Just watched today's show with Hayley and Dean and loved the cushions she was knitting but at £34.99 per kit it's a bit pricey. I know I can get the pom pom wool itself for around £8 ish a ball and I saw the back of the cushion was knitted in what looked like either double knitting or chunky wool. But how do you make it up into a cushion cover?

It looks to me as if the two sides have just been put together right side to right side and then stitched round and turned inside out. If it were me I would back the front (at least) on to material as the knitted fabric is quite see through with pom-pom wool. I don't know how Hayley says to knit the Pom-Pom wool but I have just knitted two cushion fronts in the baby pom-pom and you get a closer finish if you knit in stocking stitch rather than garter stitch as all the pom-poms fall on the same side this way.

Thanks Granny Penny - I would never have thought of lining the pom pom side or knitting it just in garter stitch. If I do that then I could use poppers to close the 4th side as in this house they are bound to need a wash sooner rather than later! I've ordered a couple of balls of the turquoise/gold mix - will probably just sit and feel them for a few months lol!!!

I love the look, but don't tend to use cushions. I've seen the baby yarn knitted up in a shop in Barnsley, loved the look of it, sadly no babies to knit for, or likely to be in the near future. :(
