Just thought I'd share this with you as an example of the sort of thing the Cricut Expression (http://www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/29-0450-cricut-expression-electronic-cutting-machine--cricut-design-studio-2596-p.asp) with it's BIG cutting capability starts to open up. These were produced from the Cricut Adhesive Backed Vinyl (http://www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/29-0464-cricut-cuttables-adhesive-backed-vinyl-12-x-24-2-sheets-brown-3483-p.asp) and a Cricut Cartridge (http://www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/cricut-cartridges-30-c.asp) loaded in the Cricut Expression (http://www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/machines--accessories-29-c.asp) machine. They were made for our older daughter who had two identical bins, one for rubbish and one for dog food

I am a dog owner and this is such a brilliant idea but rather an expensive buy for me....I have the original cricut machine and to buy the Expression would be too much for my poor purse to cope with just now...but in the future if I save up very hard who knows....will remember this idea for sure!! :)
Hello I love the bins and fancy puttng one on my dustbins. Can I ask have you used what I call sticky backed plastic or is it something else, and also can you please tell me the settings you have used as well. I have been very scared to use it in case I ruin it and waste a load of money.

It looks fab Rich. You can have a lot of fun with the Expression. I used the Paper Pups cartridge and cut out the wag-o-meter sign. I put it above my previous Lab's bowl. I must make another for Maya. I'd be copying your idea if I hadn't just bought a new food container in the Lakeland sale.

Fab service as always Rich. After seeing your bin I did a bit of Googling on the Cricut Vinyl and loved the things people have done with it. I ordered some from you yesterday and it's just arrived. I've personalised Maya's new food bin, just in case any random dogs come in and feel like helping themselves to her food! :giggle: I've got lots of other ideas for it and I think signs and words will be popping up all over the house!

OMG Lynne what have you done to Maya has she been at the promarkers, and changed her colouring oh and a face lift,in fact she's a differant dog.LOL
Looking at what you can do with that machine I wonder if I can get hubby to get daughter one (if she asks she will get)I mean it will be so usefull with her job all that stuff she can make for the class room, and while she is busy I will just have to use it for her LOL(thats if is easy to use, I can't even get a download to print)

That dog is a lot better behaved than Maya, Jan! Lol. There is a yellow lab on the side of it, but no chocolate ones.

I'm really loving the vinyl. I had fun with it at the weekend. I've put the "Smile" border from Paper Pups on the mirror in the downstairs toliet and "Gorgeous!" on the full-length mirror in our bedroom. This makes me  every time I look in it.
It also makes fab peel-offs. As it's quite thin and not too shiny it almost looks like it has been printed.

would it be worth buying some vinyl for the small cricut machine?

I certainly like it , Angie. It comes in a pack of 2, 12x24" sheets. I only have the 12x12 mat so I just cut it down. I don't have the transfer sheet that you are supposed to use, so I just used lines of masking tape to transfer the cut design. I will probably buy some eventually though as it will make life a bit easier.
