Glad you enjoyed it Maisie - I didn;'t know she did workshops. She tends to get a bit of a hard time on here sometimes (and I agree, she does go over the top at times)
It's good to know she cares about the folks who have paid money to have a workshop with her.

If you check out her website (http://www.michelemarsdencraft.tv/acatalog/Our_Products_available_at_Craft_shops.html) she lists them - unfortunately the majority seem to be in the North of England & I can't see any in Scotland ATM :(

Glad you had an enjoyable day Masie - I'd quite like to do a workshop with MM, I've never found her annoying & have quite a few of her kits (when they were reduced!)

I have never found michele annoying either. I think I tend to like her as she is from Yorkshire like me, but then a lot of the crafters on tv seem to be from up north LOL:)

Sounds like you had an excellent day maisie.

She sent me a lovely card she made on air last week when she was on with Ellis. I had been trying all week to get an email read out. Ellis said I wasn't going in the box as they would send me a card anyway and michele said I could have the one she had just made. A biggish double pop out made with the foxy fairy stuff they were selling:)

*applause*

I'm basing my wedding card commission on one of her samples from last week, basically an A4 gatefold, with the left side as a 'straight' A5 card to include the insert & specially requested verses & the right side as a pop out heart apperture, possibly with dangly horseshoes...plus a lot of ribbon :D Well, that's the plan in my head, the practical may not be as imagined LOL

Have to admit to not being a great fan of Michelle (it's my day for disagreeing with forum folk today :p), as she does often come across on screen as a little course, and I am also not a great fan of Red Hot Bed kits (although I may be about to eat my words as I'm waiting for delivery of my Fairy Princess kit).

However, I think that almost always, craft (and other) presenters are very pleasant to meet in real life. I know from personal experience that Dawn B is lovely, and a much more varied crafter in real life than her on-screen persona portrays, and Catherine Huntley (almost universally reviled on here) is a really sweet person.

So, great to hear that you had a good day, M*D, I bet it was good to meet up with other crafters too!

I know someone who's met Catherine Huntley - and sweet wasn't how she described her!

I see she's in my part of the woods in August to Coleman's to do demo's, might take a ride over :)

Sounds like you had fun MD. Michelle's style of crafting is not my cup of tea but as Dips has said elsewhere it's horses for courses.

I'm afraid I'm bucking the trend here as well. I really don't like Michelle Marsden, I too think she is coarse and smutty and rather fond of her own voice and she does play the "professional northener " a bit too much, I'm always expecting her to whip out her black pudding and hit Nigel over the head (I hale from the north too by the way). I have "met" her, it was at Bolton last year and I wasn't very impressed, to be honest I quite liked her before that. Still each to their own, I see she's going to be doing the pick of the days for all of July so at least that's one way I can be sure I won't overspend. :D

I'm not a great lover of MM but I definetly think she's upped the ante since Nancy Watt has been on more often showing us all her beautiful creations for the pick and stick POTD's that we've been inundated with lately

I think you have a point Jeanette. Since Nancy started doing all those big cards and coming up with all those different ideas, MM has been almost copying but just making them much bigger and using a lot more card. I saw one construction last week it was absolutely massive with two large A5 cards stuck on the front, opening in different directions, it kept toppling over and could have done with some scaffolding. Can you imagine how much that would cost to make? I suppose if you work for a company that manufactures card and paper then cost is no problem.

It's all a matter of each to their own:)
I've never met any of them and likely never will.
From watching them on tv......I cannot abide Dawn Bibby. Comes across as smug and bossy. Don't like Cathrine Either. She so creeps up to Dawn Bibby.
People aren't always as nice as they might appear in the flesh. Putting on a false act.
Would be a boring world if we all agreed and all liked the same things and same people!:D

I wouldn't buy th Red Hot Bed kits or any other kit as they aren't my thing. I prefer cds:) And making my own designs from other materials.

I'm sure that every TV craft person has their good and bad days like the rest of us and can't always be as sweet as they may appear on the TV. I guess it's just a case of whetehr or not people like their products as after all it is a business. But I did get a very nicely signed card from Stephanie and Nancy at C&C this week just because my email was read out on air!
The one thing that does my head in is watching the craft shows and the professional presenters talking over the guest presenters. For example CH was on wiht Dawn Bibby a while ago and like her or not, you have to admit that DB is good at demonstrating the craft products. But CH just kept talking over her and making inane comments, I ended up turning the sound off! I know that sometimes guest presenters need a bit of help but someone like DB could run the show on her own anytime!
Just my opinion, anyhow!
