I taught myself to knit two weeks ago during a long hospital visit and I am ready to tackle my first project this coming week.
I am only doing a scarf and wanted Lion Brand Incredible Yarn. I have googled and googled and can't find it anywhere in the UK.
Does anyone have any suggestions of a good online store where perhaps I can find it or something at least similar ?
Many Thanks
Hi Julie - I found some here at Rainbow Silks (http://www.rainbowsilks.co.uk/ProductDetails.cfm?SubCatId=553&Code=LIOINC). Not sure if they have the colours you want. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much Soo, you are quick off the mark, I have been looking all day !!!!
I love all types of yarn way too much to ever see a new knitter separated from hers! :) Happy to help.

Hi Julie
Just wanted to say first of all hope your hospital stay went well and your health is restored.
Second, well done on teaching yourself to knit! I picked up my needles last year after more than 30 years and now can't put them down, it's addictive and relaxing and I hope you enjoy it more as you become more experienced!
I hope you've been able to find the yarn you mentioned. I always find a good place for asking questions is the knitting & crochet website http://www.ravelry.com. It's run by and for crafters and there are loads of forums where you can ask for information or help about all sorts of knitting/crochet issues, such as sourcing yarns and other materials. It's also a bit addictive as there is a ton of interesting information, free patterns etc.
Happy knitting!

Hi Julie
Love yarn are another website that has ribbon yarn, I bought some from them last year and it knits up lovely. I dont know if you have a Lidl nearby but if you do keep an eye on them as they often get ribbon and other "specialist" yarn in. Earlier this year I got some ribbon yarn from them and it was only £2.99 for 4 50g balls. Got three packs, gold, grey and lilac and made 6 scarves in total as presents, all very well received and they only took about an hour each to knit.

Sorry - should have let you all know - Lidl had knitting needles (only in a few sizes in mine), wool and sewing kits in this week. Worth checking out on the website if you could be interested.

Oops. Posted a link to a company I used to order from for Lion yarns in the UK but they no longer operate from Britain. Oh well. I'll keep looking

Me again. This is a new firm for me so can't guarantee customer service. They do stock Lion brand but can't see the ribbon yarn.

The Love Yarn company someone else suggested is excellent. I've been buying my ruffle yarn from them
