That they have been advertising on C & C. If so, can I ask, is it useful and what should I be looking for?

Haven't seen these shows but wonder if it is the 'Encaustic Iron' GP?

Thanks PP. It's for pressing seams (http://www.createandcraft.tv/Clover_Mini_Iron_II_-_Perfect_for_Patchwork%2c_Craft_Projects_and_Appli que_192527.aspx?fh_location=//createandcraft/en_GB/$s=iron) but it looks a bit dangerous. In fact the encaustic one looks a better bet!

I've got the encaustic one for using with fusible fibres. It's a nice, neat little iron.

I have one of these (http://www.tools4trade.com/d-2928012-Black--Decker-CI500-Cordless-Craft--Soldering-Iron.aspx) GP. Don't see why it wouldn't be just as good, and you can use it for lots of other things in the craft room (melting and cutting polyester fabric and pyrography, though why you'd want to do pyrography escapes me, but some folks do!) It's not readily available these days (shame on them!). I got mine from Argos, but they don't seem to keep it anymore. Also, don't forget that if it's just for seams, those little wooden sticks (http://www.cottonpatch.co.uk/acatalog/Patchwork_Notions.html) are great for pressing. There's a roller on this page, too, but you have to scroll down for the iron. That site also does a cheaper mini iron (half the price). I think they're probably my quilt shop of choice - hope their fabric doesn't stink as much as it used to! They stock Tilda fabric. Swoon.

Thanks Kate. I thought paper craft was too tempting, but quilting, oh my!
