I have had some 7 Gypsies tissue paper for ages and wooden house to stick it on. I've been looking at it for ages and finally plucked up the courage to paint it and paste the tissue on. I've used Mod Podge to stick it down, but don't know if I should use something else as a sealant, never tried this before - can anyone help/advise?

Thanks

I tried the Claudine Hellmuth matt medium & ranger glue & seal and i still prefer mod podge as it's not so thick and doesn't show the brush strokes as much, they are all sealants so should all do the job. I have some of that tissue paper too with bird cages on it but at a bit of a loss to know what to do with it. I saw on someones blog they glued it to a small wooden box and it looked lovely. Sometimes I look at all my stash and have so much I don't know what to do next. LOL, which defo means I shouldn't by any more for ages!! Somehow I can't see that happening :cheeky:

Can't wait to see your house when it's finished Susan!

I have experimented with various mediums and up to now the mod podge is winning, although I haven't tried the Glue and Seal. I have glued the tissue on by tearing of the bits I wanted! I considered covering the whole house, but changed my mind. It's my first attempt at this sort of thing, but it's not the disaster I thought it would be. Just thinking of things to put on the shelves now. I'll post a pic when finished.
I know what you mean about stash, I have tons and not a clue what to do with it. I have been gazing at the tissue for ages, too scared to waste it - until my Mum pointed out that it was wasted lying in a box LOL
Thanks for everyones help.

Oh wow Susan that is brilliant, I love it, so imaginative, the birds nest is gorgeous, did you cover the eggs in the tissue paper too? You filled all the little cubbyhole holes beautifully with little trinkets. Just looked on your blog and seen a close up of the butterflies they are stunning. Is that the Tim Holtz butterfly die? I love the pretty hanging you have made too. The frame is so beautifully made and embossed.

Thank you Paula, I'm a bit pleased with it!
The eggs are white wooden beads, they were a bit big, but I searched for ages and couldn't find the right size. and, yes, I covered them in tissue paper. It was rather fiddly - my fingers were covered in tissue paper as well!
I used the Tim Holtz butterfly die again, I'm in love with it. I really like the way they curl when you emboss and use a heat gun on grunge paper. I used the larger butterfly from the Pink Paislee stamp set to emboss them, it's just the right size.

Hi - we used the Claudine Matte Medium which is awesome and also Glossy accents for our Tim workshop where he actually launched the first shadow boxes way back in February - both worked really well, personally I preferred the Matte Medium because it doesnt leave any trace of glue and also seals the tape well. x
