As there's no description, I can't tell if the themeplates are coming ready mounted on Kling On like Glenda usually offers with C&C - what do you reckon???

Flowerpot

I'm I right in saying ALL Glenda's stamp plates come already mounted on Kling-on when brought from C&C???? thought I'd ask now I've brought them, lol

Does anyone know what these

Graphicus Glimmer Screen Set of 9 Stencils

are? Phree or Turquoise - did you see these on your workshop?

If I'm right you put them over your work & spray the mists over them, then when you lift them off you've the image of which ever screen you use...like a stencil

If you have a look at Glenda's blog via the Graphicus site you can see her having a play with them a few days back - you're right Flowerpot, they mask the paper/cardstock you're spraying onto...

AFAIK Glenda hasn't got the live show on Sunday. it's a pre-record at 5pm, so there should be plenty of demo time :)

I brought the Stamp Man DVD which shows you how to use the moonshadow inks, spritzers & the rest of the range, but I'd say that these techniques would also work just as well with the glimmer mists.

Marzipan

where did you get that from flower pot?

Flowerpot
25-06-2008, 09:29 PM
I saw it on C&C, but found that The Stamp Man themselfs better as no p+p
but as C&C have free p+p and plus if you're a club member it would work out better from them at the mo

I'd put a link to C&C page but it's taking forever to load :(

LOL......... I did warn you all to wait for Sunday's show :D

Glimmer mists and screens are TO DIE for....... you are soooooooooo gonna luv that show...... Flowerpot I hope you have not checked out prematurely..... I am not 100% certain.....but I am fairly sure I remember Glenda mentioning a mega deal on the Glimmer Mist show and admitting that the best deal available on the new stamp designs and Glimmer mist stuff will be the Mega Deal price.

For those who are not sure what glimmer mists and screens are, take a look at the most recent entry on my blog......the Mellow Yellow ATC..... it's not glimmer mists but something similar called Memories Mists and I used diecut shapes to create flower and butterfly masks. The Memories Mists are not shimmery tho like the Glimmer Mists.

I have already checked out Phree, but that's ok as the super deal (the link below) was a bit tooo much for me, plus I've already got some of the mists & might end up with 2 of the same.

I think the Glimmer Mist in the Mega Deal are all new colours......but I see what you mean Flowerpot.. it's rather a lot. I had figured that the price was likely to be over £100, but not perhaps quite as high as that. I think it's the fact there are so many glimmer mists that is bumping the price so high cuz there is 90 quids worth of glimmer mists there at normal retail price.

The screens are not stencils.... I have not got any so no idea if they are robust enough to use for dry embossing, they are used to mask before you spritz.... or if you prefer "screen" an area of your card. However they may be robust enough to use for dry embossing - until someone who actually has one I guess we don't know.

Marzipan

these screens are made out of plastic are are quire robust so you could dry emboss with them, but when using them as a 'screen' before you spray over them you need to use a spray mount otherwise your spary may seep through your stencil not giving you a crisp image but it does still look lovely.

Actually marzi I suspect the screens uses are more akin to the Heidi Swapp masks some of which I do have - and trust me some of the techniques involve deliberately moving the mask (or screen) a little between spritzes as the desired effect it to have a subtle blending of the outline. You can acheive a lot of these effects too with die cut shapes .... just cut whatever you ahve with your cuttlebugs or wizards or bigshots and have a play - and post it notes make very useful respositionable masks - just make sure if you die cut a mask from a post it note that you catch in a reasonable chunk of the tacky part of the post it note with in your shape or alternately use the hole in the remainder of the note to spritz thru if you see what I mean.

That's the bit of the blog I read :) Must admit, while it all looks very pretty, I'm busy playing with what I've already got. Not quite ready to go down the GM road...
