Think I might have got it wrong. Have just read posts left by tsv since the first one, and they don't really look like a spammer after all. Strange first post though, especially after recent events. If I have got it wrong, please accept my apologies.

I did too, but I had glanced across and this section's name is spelt wrongly

TSV is a proper long term member of St.com so it probably was a joke, it looked like spam though tbh and so it was a daft post.

It was also quite rude to point out a word was wrongly spelt on the forum when it was only your second post.

It was the first post I think. As I don't go on ST, I didn't recognise the name and thought it was just someone else joining to be rude to us. Sorry TSV if this is not the case. We do welcome new forum members, and I look forward to you posting again.

Welcome to the forum:hi:
I did wonder what TSV was on about, I never even noticed there it was a spelling error, but if TSV is going to be a member here they had better get used to grammer and spelling errors or make sure they don't read my posts LOL as I am the worst offender,
I remember when I was over on ST a member complaining about people who can't spell, think most of the older(not in age) members might know who I mean. they did not even mean it in in funny way they were down right rude.my reply was I am dyslexic what's your excuse:giggle:

Surely craft telly is supposed to fun in that you aren't given marks out of ten for your grammar to spelling? True, if something is correctly spelt, it can make it easier to read but chastising someone for a typo or two IMHO is plain pathetic. There are more important things in life than worrying because someone has spelt something wrong, provided you know what they meant to have put, what is the problem?

I agree but I know that in a hurry and in temper I have posted complete gobbledegook and even I had trouble reading what I had written LOL

It's not a problem in the individual posts, because people type quickly and just want to communicate, but correct spelling creates a good impression in more formal/ official contexts, so I understand why the original post was made.

Can you go onto my facebook site please TSV (welcome as a newby by the way!) and have a decko at how my lot spell ......sheesh!! On here it is lovely to read all the posts from the nicest people you could hope to meet- so who cares if sometimes the spelling is shot to pot......it is what is 'said' not what it looks like. x :)

Finding fault is ok but not to highlight it in a setting like this. It is not the end of the world if a message is incorrectly detailed, whether it be spelling or grammar. The gist of the message is understood. Let us hope the fault-finders are perfect!

It's one thing making a joke of someone's typo/incorrectly spelled word, we all do that and it makes folks smile, but to just point out something to be rude is another matter entirely.

I am another who likes to see good grammar and correct spelling and I HATE the use of ebonics, text speak and all that other modern way of communicating, but no one should be made to feel bad if their level of spelling/grammar is not up to par.

I am the first to admit by spelling and grammar is terrible and it is not for the want of trying. The main problem is that I just can't see if I have made a spelling mistake. At times I will type a word over and over again until I have to give up and try and find another word in it's place. I am so use to people telling me how rubbish I am I tend not to take any notice, but my friends now just accept it as being part of who I am.
