Wow, SCW, if you are right about that being the TSV, it seems like very bad timing to me. Something as costly as a sewing machine is a considered purchase even at a great TSV price. Offering it so close to Christmas is a bit too late in the day for people who enjoy sewing to persaude their hubbys or other family members that it would make a great Christmas pressy, but they are probably too skint from doing their own gift shopping for things to give to other people to be able to treat themselves.

I really hope that this isn't a TSV...remember Anna Griffin let it slip a TSV in December would be a machine which would sew onto paper for you? There are no other craft TSVs in December so SCW must be right with the item number. What an awful lot of money to spend though.

What a daft time to put an expensive sewing machine on! Too late for an Xmas pressie & far too late to use it to make any Xmas pressies for other people... Perhaps it's as simple as they don't think they'll sell many TSVs on that day whatever they put on so it may as well be a considered purchase like this. I seem to remember the few days before Xmas often have pretty lame sounding TSVs.
Also I'm not very happy with a craft day that late in December anyway. I don't want to make my poor boyfriend a Christmas craft widower! A week earlier & I could have watched the whole day... Perhaps I should suggest that he uses that day to wrap all the pressies whilst I watch all the craft shows! :D

I think the timing is crazy too, whatever the TSV is, having a craft day so close to Christmas and nothing else major crafty in teh interim 4 weeks is just crazy. I actually think that QVC should do more craft shows, on average it seems to be about 4 or 5 hours a week at the most. Compare that wiht the number of makeup shows, or clothes shows, or electronic shows. They would sell a lot more craft if they put more shows on, it's as simple as that!
PLEASE SHOOT ME IF I APPEAR ON THESE FORUMS AGAIN TODAY BEFORE 5PM.
Maybe they know they won't sell many whatever they choose as the TSV so it doesn't matter. Or maybe they want word to get out so that anyone considering buying a sewing machine will hold off.
From QVC's pov they wouldn't sell much of any kind of product that day so I suppose craft is as good as anything- at least there are always some craft addicts that will watch whenever! (at least in the evening anyway) 12 easy payments would be nice!!

Guess what? I made the suggestion to my boyfriend that he could spend craft day wrapping presents & I'll stay out of his way watching all the shows... & he agreed that was a good idea! :D Result! I am a happy bunny... Now let's just hope that sewing machine sells out & we get some nice OTOs.

Well I've got two words to say to that..... no not them.. really  it's 'easy pay' QVC seem to be big fans of this at the moment & I bet it will be a x 4 pay.
Me I'll stick to sewing by hand, it's much cheaper, in fact it's free :D
I've a sewing machine think I'll see if it will sew paper/card for me later.... can't see why it wouldn't

Mine does, it's a Singer, seems to do sew more or less anything!
But as for sewing material onto paper, it's probably quicker to do it by hand unless you're doing loads of it.

Anyway, just on the subject of QVC, am I alone in thinking that there seem to be even fewer craft shows than usual at the minute? I was looking at the most recent TV guide I have from them and apart from the usual Tuesday afternoon session, I can't see any other craft shows in the next 2 weeks at all. I thought that Dawn's show won their most popular guest presenter vote this year, so you'd think that they'd appreciate how many people like watching craft shows. Just my little moan....

In case anyone is interested in buying an inexpensive sewing machine, Aldi have one on offer on Sunday 7th December for £38.
It includes:
Aluminium body
44 built-in stitch patterns
Adjustable foot pressure
Adjustable thread tension
Forwards and backwards sewing
Built-in handle
Free arm design for both flat sewing and cylinder sewing
Computerised speed control
Twin needle
It is probably rebadged, but maybe someone will recognise the original make.

Hi
A member of our local craft club has heard that the TSV on 22nd Dec will be a card making kit. She has promised to keep me posted!
Don't count on a sewing machine...... All I can say is make sure you are watching, it's definitely going to be worthwhile, and SO not a sewing machine!!!;)
Make sure you watch on craft day - it's definitely not a sewing machine!
Hi, are we still interested in the craft day? We should be - I've heard it's a really good Kanban kit! x

Oh that sounds fun, I could do with more stuff to play with!! My sister is getting me one of the scrapbook kits, I've suggested a couple of the ones that I like and they are both in stock so I know I'll get at least one other present that I will really like!
Don't know about the rest of you, I'm a bit down in teh dumps at the moment, worried about all sorts of things, perhaps a bit low becasue of my uncle dying last weekend, not particularly looking forward to Christmas. So I'm looking forward to a day of crafting on QVC and they have some good guests in the line-up, including We R Memory Keepers, Papermania, Prima and Rosemary Merry. So it's a day of quality crafting and I'm looking forward to blobbing out in front of the telly for the day. If it is a Kanban TSV, at least we know it'll be good quality and I do like watching Dawn doing demos etc.

well even if I don't see anything I want to buy, it'll be nice to have a day of good crafting. I don't know if i've posted this elsewhere, but i got the We R Memory Keepers big craftmat with the magnetic ruler and little magnets and it is a great little bit of kit, keeps your papers firm on the card while you're cutting so is worth investing in or asking for a late Christmas pressie.
No, I'm not Dawn!!!
So, if it were concept cards, but bigger, would they be better? I know I'd like to make some bigger ones!

Yes not a flower ,butterfly or fairy in sight for the last few kanban tsv's. Having said that I bought the fairy tsv from kanban clearance store last year and it was excellent(lot cheaper mind you) the foiled cards were great for really classy cards and the messages were really useful. I loved the decoularge kit and the christmas concept cards (great for quick christmas cards) but still have loads of the everyday concept cards as they are a bit small for my liking. i prefer the kits where we have to use some of our skills rather than the simpler stick bit on kits. Hopefully there will be something like that as the Kanban card is really good quality. fingers crossed.:o
They actually did a matching card kit to go with the last concept cards - they had a foiled border on the bottom, so you could use the A4 sheet to make an A5 card, then use the concept card as a matting bit. Looked really good when finished. I agree that I'm not so keen on the A6 concept cards. Bigger A5 cards would be much nicer. Kanban have definitely improved this year!

ANOTHER concept card kit TSV? Why?!
I'm sorry, but I've never been a fan of these cards that you just stick together. I prefer using more interesting techniques then just glueing! They're a great idea for newbie crafters & a cool way to get into paper crafting so I've bit my tongue when they've been TSVs in the past. The thing is surely if you're watching craft day, & intending to purchase too, that close to Christmas then you're a fairly serious crafter? So wouldn't it be a good opportunity to do a more advanced technique TSV? ...or maybe a scrapbooking kit for all your Chistmas & New Year photos?
I suppose at least my money's safe. I doubt we'll get OTOs either so unless there are some great Christmas surprises I won't be buying anything...

Well even as someone who is new to crafting, i don't really like these kits because they seem to miss the point of crafting, ie to create something that is unique and has some skill involved in the process. But I can underdstand that some people will enjoy the kits especially if they are die cut and you have problems using scissors etc. Also they are fun if for example you have a group of children etc as they are relatively easy to compile.

I know what you mean Marie - but it's nice to have the odd one or two in stock for quickie cards - and they're quite nice mounted as toppers on larger cards. A bit like the badly cut decoup kits on 'the other channel' ;) The cards are more 'hand finished' than handmade. The fun is to add your own twist & not just simply make up the card IYSWIM...
I must admit I'm not a big fan of the instant 'handmade' 3D topper sticker type things - much rather make my own!

Hi Vicky, it might well work although I can't be ceratin about the price. Back in November, Igot some birthday money and wanted to spend it on teh AG Craft totes, but knew that I'd be busy that day and didn't want to miss it. The TSV was on the website at teh TSV price a couple of days early, so I ordered mine and got it delivered a couple of days before anyone else. I don't know if Monday's TSV is on the website yet but if it is, you should be able to order it.

I've noticed that TSV discounts are usually around 20% of the "normal" QVC price so this is pretty well par for the course. I can't see much new stuff on the normal craft site yet, I guess that you have to put in specific numbers to find things. I imagine that they are holding new stuff back from the main listings so that they've got lots of "new" things for tomorrow, which is fine by me. The email from Topaz this weekend mentioned 7 new kits in the 9am hour alone so there should be plenty to keep us salivating!

Marie all the new kits have been found in the premier thread so you just have to put the numbers in to find them like you have said

40 All Occasion Concept Cards 20 Topper Sheets, 40 Envelopes & Adhesive Stones
Item Number: 587856
QVC Price £33.75
Today's Special Value Price £27.90
Availability In stock
UK P&P £4.45
Create handmade cards for every occasion with this beautifully designed card kit from Kanban. Boasting brand new designs, this set is perfect for making cards that stand out. The kit makes 40 A5 cards and includes 20 A4 embossed and glittered background sheets in a variety of designs. You'll also receive 20 A4 sheets of card toppers, 20 sheets of concept cards and 100 gemstones for that extra special finishing touch. 40 envelopes and a printed photo gallery sheet are also included. As this is suitable for crafters of all abilities, it makes a great gift.
Looks better value now it shows it makes 40 cards not the 20 I thought it said earlier but still not sure if I would like all the styles enough to buy. I used the 4 decouplage christmas cards from my kit today for family cards but personalised them with gems glitter and danglies (Im really into dangly bits at the mo ) and they do look really nice. My MIL is getting a card made from scratch though
Also pleased to see the TSV cards are A5 not A6
I have decided to send my Elemis TSV back as I dont get on with the face cream and dont much like the shower cream smell so that means I have that money to spend but not sure if I will succumb to any QVC goodies DH is going to tape the shows I miss while at work but some things will probably be sold by the time I get a look.

Actually sometimes I think its better to see the shows recorded, it means that you can't be tempted to buy things you don't need . Also if you do want something that has sold out, you can come online and see if you can find it cheaper elsewhere before going on waitlist. I always enjoy watching the QVC craft shows that I've recorded while out or working.

I hope they are A4 cards sugarplum, I remember them saying that before!
By the way I don't get on with Elemis either I sent a previous TSV back, it really is over priced too, Philosophy skin products or Liz Earle and L'Occitane are much better.
I am glad you are into dangly bits:D - don't tell Julie or LC!:D:D

That kit was lovely - but why do the prices for Heidi Grace have to be so horrific?

It is expensive, even compared with AG stuff. But they say it is flocked and stuff so I guess it's as much in the texture as teh look.
Oh I am trying not to moan but i will be so pleased when Claire finishes presenting at midday, sjhe is a very nice presenter and doesn't interrupt like some of the others, but she does GUSH and waffle about things! I wish the presenters would realise that viewers have brains and can work out what to do with photos instead of putting them on washing line in teh kitchen or how to use a xyron sticker! I used them even before I started paper crafting!!
Right rant over, at least Jules is on now and he's funny!

I think the best thing Claire just said (not that I was taking a lot of notice of her) was "How else are you going to stick down your photos?" - apparently there are no other adhesives available apart from the Xyron runners!

Oh snotty doodles - I had convinced myself that I wasn't going to be tempted today...But the Christmas Surprise HOTP kit (http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx?app=detail¶ms=item^586838,tpl^uk,sc^,cc^,from^,navlist^58 5012*585188*586502*586838*586843*587383*587655*587 838*587844*) that's on right now with 2 easy pays & free p&p is exactly the sort of thing I'd buy if I was off the wagon....:o

DON'T DO IT WELLIE! Honest there is so much gorgeous stuff we're all tempted, but you've got the TSV to look forward to and there will be plenty more stuff in the new year to tempt us all!

I think there's something wrong with me today - but I honestly don't fancy anything - even the Clangers didn't tempt me! Everytime I turn the TV on there is a Kanban kit - getting a bit fed up of these tbh.

I did succumb eventually to a couple of things The invertage kit (some of those images were identical to some in an Ideal world kit) I know it wasnt that cheap but it was nice images and is handy for those birthdays I keep forgeting! I also bought the american crafts 54 rolls of ribbon (Like I need more ribbon!) but it was just sooooo luverly I am so weak

Lovely stuff but really must use some of my stash first.

Well I wsa pleased too that I didn't spend much, the only things I got were the Big Bite C-A-D and some wacky tac! I even got quite a lot of work done yesterday as well which I was pleased about as I wasn't absolutely glued to the tv during the day! But I did enjoy it and there are a few bits I've got on my wish list, I liked the Papermania monochrome kit that was on in the evening.

I was very good yesterday, all I bought was the set of Coredinations Black Magic Coloured Cards :)
I was going to get the sets of Sakura pens but I have about 6 of each type already so I'm going to make a list of the ones I've got and buy the rest from the craft shop on my way home from work this afternoon - save on the p+p :D

I've bought some from JS before but I quite enjoy pottering about the craft shop I pass on my way home from work - plus I don't have to wait for them to be delivered :)
Also, 10 packets of Heidi Grace ribbons for £12.50 managed to find their way into my sticky paws while I was there :D

I was very restrained (for me :)) and only ordered the Coredination pads and the grosgrain ribbons in a box.
Did like the Heidi Grace items though...

I think the reason I didn't buy anything is that there wasn't a DCVW hour, or any new Jollynation and 75% of my craft stuff is Christmas based!!!

Did anyone else notice the huge amount of stock that used to be sold on CAC and seems to have found it's way over to QVC?
I'm havin a brain dead moment right now, but there seemed to be positively loads of it showing as new to QVC yesterday.

They've had sakura pens on QVC before.
I didn't see much of the craft day. I can't stand Dawn Bibby or any of the presenters. I have to at least turn the sound off so I can't hear their whinning voices and lapping up to the DB woman.
I don't mind Leonnie.
Once postage is added many things aren't such a bargain as they reckon they are anyway.
