I like it, but not all of it! I think it is expensive though, except when buying a bulk lot such as the TSVs.

I don't like most of it. Don't mind the animal ones - hate the people ones. lol

Not my taste either, though the designs are fun, but I wouldn't choose to send or receive a JN card.

I love the people but am not very keen at all on the animal ones.

What I enjoy making and what I enjoy receiving are poles apart

Bearing in mind we are in the middle of a huge card swap, I will adore whatever I get sent, because somebody took the time and care to bother.

Wins, you better send all the Jolly Nations here !!!!!!!! :D

Great post Julie. I complete agree with you - I will be delighted to receive all the cards I receive no matter what the style.

On this I agree with Julie and Spendloads, if someone has taken the trouble to make a card, I really don't mind its style.

What I don't get is why people seem to think Jolly Nation is rather like Marmite - a love or hate type of product with no middle ground for thinking it's OK but not great. I quite like the people images, as others have mentioned, I also find the animal images less attractive.

However what I do admire about it is it's commercial savvy - those images sell! People relate to them - I know I do - and that means they sell to quite a lot of crafters who are either, like our ROC, adore them or who may not be quite so enamoured of them on a personal level, but who are smart enough to know they will sell easily to non-crafting freinds, colleagues etc who like to buy hand made cards.

Regarding cards made for me I second Julie's comments about what I make and what I enjoy receiving are totally unrelated. To be honest I am total pants at figuring out what everyone else on the forum likes best - my abject failures to guess correctly in forum secret swaps bears testament to that! So I do what I expect many of us do which is try to make something that is at least beautiful to my eyes and hope that the recipient enjoys receiving a card that they know I have put time an care into it's making.

I hope I haven't upset anyone by saying I don't like them, just being truthful but at the same time I really appreciate any that are sent to me and would never throw them away.
Sorry if I've offended anyone.

I neither love or hate them. I have bought sheets in the past and the recipients have loved them

Right. Before I start, I just want to make it perfectly clear that this is not a case of a leopard changing its spots (or a crafter changing her crafting preferences), BUT

I was flicking through a trade magazine at work today, and I saw a piccie of a new range of Jolly Nation decoupage - Pride and Prejudice. It's Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet and it's really rather cute. :o Never thought I'd see the day. :D

Um in the words of the James Bond movie......... Never Say Never :D

LOL Anne actually you have provoked a question in my mind - and I might just go and post a poll thread ........ watch this space!

LOL Anne, you have made me remember what Dawn Bibby said about the Pride & Prejudice sheet ...that Beth Hughes designed those particular characters as she loves Jane Austen films. I really got the impression she hadn't realised where the characters had really come from!

Have they been on QVC already then? If that's the case the trade mag wasn't giving much of a preview.

Yep - they featured in the last Jolly Nation TSV :)

The die cut sheets aren't being released to the trade all at the same time, but some are now available.

That's why I never saw them. I made a point of not watching any of it! :D

I had that TSV which I liked, not sure who to send Mr Darcy to though, probably think of someone before too long. It was quite a good selection of images.
