Just been checking out The Big Craft store in the news thread, it would cost over £70 for an old cricut cart and shipping, bit bloody expensive!

I wouldn't buy anything from them that I could source in the UK, but it may be useful for things you just can't get over here

Glad you managed to find something out Angie! I found glue at £3.50 (without postage or customs charges added!) or thereabouts that JS sells for £2.50. Think that'll be my first and last trip there!! I really couldn't be bothered to carry on with it. Btw - which cart was it? lol

PS I just went and had a look - a cart I really wouldn't want anyway, inc taxes and postage - more than £80.
..thud...
(just fainted)

I just don't get why/what we actually need to go shopping in the USA for.

Why/what/how is there a 1st; a new; an on trend

And then how will they take the payment; because my bank charges a fortune for $ transactions, and then there is the tax man when it arrives in the UK, I really don't see what I actually would need to use a USA company for, because it all eventually arrives here in the UK, and also if I buy it from the UK and better still from people like our Wins at Foilplay, I know how I will be treated, and what my rights are

so true millburn, I can't even understand how they think they would be good for this site, utter rip off.

Must admit I was a bit confused by this site.

I thought we would get American prices, plus the import duty in some cases, then the postage, it might have made it worthwhile for heavy items like dies as shipping is based on order value and not weight.

But it just seems to be British prices with the duty and postage lobbed on top. Must admit I only looked up a few things but the maths just didnt add up !

I was totally gobsmacked when I saw the prices of the cricut carts so didnt even bother to look around the rest of the site. Obviously they have not done their homework, just by checking our sponsors they would see that we can already get what they are offering much cheaper elsewhere.

Glad it's not just me thinking it was a rip off. I couldn't be bothered to go through the whole process to see what the final price would be - once I'd checked out one or two items that I've got my eye on and seen what they were charging.
