Hi Everyone,
I am sure you don't need reminding but as people have started putting up their cards they have received, I thought I'd better say this. A week should be ample enough time for people to guess that want to, so can I ask that no-one comes clean, even if their card is guessed until next Wednesday please.
Hope everyone has enjoyed swapping and we all enjoy guessing (even me, I have purposely forgotten who I got to send to who).

In the light of a few PMs I have received, its blatently obvious that some of us are finding the Postal service a tad difficult. I gather that some people have been told that at this time of year, a 2nd class letter can take a week. If anyone is still awaiting their swap, ie nothing has arrived, if you haven't already done so, can you let me know, likewise any posting on the forum difficulties.

May also be an idea if anyone has received their Secret Santa, but for whatever reason haven't had a chance to post a piccie, perhaps they could acknowledge receipt of it on here, to put the senders mind at rest.

Well I never signed my card thought I'd make it more secret lol
but its seems that the 20 letters I posted last week have all gone astray a letter to my mum posted on the 31st turned up on sat post marked the 4th so where had it been all that time:mad:

Good point Julie. The thing is that not everyone has decided to even tell the recipient their identity, ie some have signed it from Secret Santa.

OK. I was thinking along the lines of PMs as so many have gone back and forth behind the scenes. With you now.

I have spent over £100 in the post office this week and nothing and I mean nothing has arrived when it was meant to.
I am having a major panic here now, posted an envelope Special Delivery today which contained over £1000 worth of stuff and I wasn't even asked for my address or what the envelope contained, how the hell I could claim if it went awol is beyond me !!!

I can vouch for that Lorraine. My friend sent me something on the 2nd and it arrived on the 12th.

I think that they just throw the post in the air and what they catch is delivered, the mail I posted last week has still not arrived, yet to day I got a 1st class letter posted last thursday and a 2nd posted yesterday.
Now the postie reckons they are on go slow at the sorting office, postmen and women have been told they must walk 4 miles an hour but some have been timed only doing 2,5 he said you try walking 4 miles an hour on the icy paths. And what has this to do with the sorting office, he said to me that he has mail that was stamped dated monday and wonders what they are up to himself.
I have received a beautiful card today and have just discovered that the camera charger has broken. I am just waiting for some other batteries to recharge and the I should be able to post a piccie later today ( if I can remember what to do)!
Thank you to my mysterious and talented secret Santa if you should be reading this.

...and I have just read on the BBC site that we're about to be hit with a postal strike  Apparently both Liverpool & Oldham (amongst a few others) are walking out next Friday - really handy that considering the majority of my family live in Oldham, so I'm going to get stuffed both ways with card delivery...
I knew I should have posted my normal cards earlier- although I think this every year and still don't learn!

well I know for a fact that one of the cards I sent was received today but not sure about the other 19 makes me so mad that I have had to go to town to do it all too as they have closed the village PO can only get to town if I get a lift due to lack of bus service now too, lovely way way to spend a sat quing for over an hour for my stamps ect only for none of the mail to arrive a week later:mad:I think if they go on strike next week they should be sacked they are forever moaning about something, they will ruin peoples Christams if thigs do not get delivered, but what do they care they can collect there own mail from the local sorting office they don't have the worry of postie not delivering
I'll bet most of them that haven't arrived yet are floating around in the postal system.

Well I don't think that they should not have the title royal maill the service is dreadfull, letters I posted last friday have still not arrived, I have been to the Po today and showed them a cert of posting for some letters that went 1st class the 1st and showed them the envelope franked the 5th and that it was recived on the 11th, they said that they were investgating the mail sent from the post box outside, but they only had my word that the letter did not arrive till 11th nothing was said about it taking 4s day to get to sorting office:mad:what makes me laugh is a letter I posted elsewhere to the USA got there in 4 days:rolleyes:

I have had a lot of PMs from various people on their Secret Santa's and in some cases not having them, as the post service has gone to pot.
Originally I said most people should get their SS's and should put them on the forum from the 10th to reveal on the 17th ie a week. As some people still haven't had them and photos are forthcoming from the makers either in some cases, we have a bit of a problem.
So, for the time being, if you were able to post on the 10th, the maker should own up on the 17th, or if the card didn't go on till the 12th reveal on the 19th and see how that works. There will come a time when the grand reveal won't be an issue, as we will be running into Christmas and I wouldn't be at all surprised if the forum is comparatively quiet.

There hasn't been much guessing going on this year. :(

I've been guessing (badly) but I think, even if you don't do a lot of guessing, it is really enjoyable to see all the lovely cards:)

First I had visitors for the weekend, then I've had pooter trouble so I haven't been on here since I posted a picture of my card on Friday. I have had to pinch DH's laptop to catch up. I have 4 pages of new threads to read! It could take a while!!!!!!!!!
