Did anyone else find themselves watching An Audience with Ken Dodd last night on Channel 5?
Even when originally broadcast 20odd yrs ago ITV put in ad breaks; he had us falling off the settee with non stop laughter, and without an ad break we were running to the loo to not miss anything :D:mysmilie_483:

Yes we watched him. Didn't think that I would enjoy it...............but I did. Much funnier that today's stand up to called comedians. Actually I am beginning to sound like my Mum. I can remember her saying the same thing about Morcambe and Wise when they first started. It's obviously an age thing!!!

OMG!! Just posted twice..............It definately is an age thing - sorry.
Loved it, seen it a few times already but it still makes us laugh. We've seen him a few times live and he's even funnier. It's true what he says about getting home lol, it's always (well most times) much later than it should be. He goes on forever but it's good lol.

I saw him live once too; must have been all of eight; we were still queuing outside the Villa Marina at the time when we should have been sat and him starting the 2nd show, as the first show audience got out, I have no idea how late we got out; my favourite routine of his is Jake the Pake with the extra leg; but that's to do with being manx and having the Three Legs for a flag :D

watched this too. He always makes me laugh, I love the older style comics, Dodd, morecombe and wise, kenneth horne, goons.
We were on a coach holiday once, just after Kens run in with the tax man. he was having a drink at the bar of the hotel we were staying at, so we sent him over a bottle of wine from our table. he was gracious enough to come over and thank us for helping a diddyman in dire needs, but also thanked us for the discreet way of saying we were on his side. Had us in stitches in the end. a lovely man its hard to believe he is in his 80s now

Almost watched it, but when I realised it was so old, decided to watch the Royal Family documentary on Gold instead (seen it before, but I do like it!). Hubby said that DS (age 8) started watching Ken Dodd & he found it hilarious.
I seem to recall that my parents once saw him live at a club years & years ago & said he was very very blue!
