okay, I had not intended to watch the last episode of Star Trek Deep Space Nine tonight, but it's been on in teh background while I've been online and even though I've seen it loads of times, I have sat here crying my eyes out for the last 20 minutes or so! It's so sad, a reeel tear-jerker!
Oh well, nothing like a good cry to get you ready for bed, lol!:o

Hooray!! Another DS9 fan! It's my favourite of all time, whenever I'm feeling really lousy I stick one of my fave episodes on and just completely forget about things! I want to be Jadzia Dax when I grow up, lol!!

I thought they handled some really serious issues well and it was funny too...I wish they had made movies like the other star treks did

Oh I just loved it, it wasn't squeeky clean like TNG and I loved the variety of characters, Quark, Nog, Rom, Garak, Dukat etc. I actually hated Kai Winn so much and it was played so well by the actor that I have to turn the sound down when the character is on screen, she was just so unpleasant. And the variety of characters means that they did deal with so many difficult subjects. One of my fave episodes was "Rejoined", at the end of the day it was an episode about requited love, but dealt with the taboo issues in such a sensitive way.
Anyway "Way of the Warrior" is on Virgin tonight, so that's my evening's viewing planned.
Great to find another Niner who is into crafting as well!

Coo - it's a while since I've watched any sort of Star Trek, that one's more hubby's thing than mine - I like my sci fi British & of the fabulous Doctor Who variety (& we're not just talking Mr Tennant here :D)
Now then, DS9? Hmmmm...Last ep...completely escapes me...I know I watched it when it was first on Sky...Really must watch some again. IIRC I didn't watch a lot of the last season.
Really tried to get on with Enterprise but it lost the plot IMHO - as did Voyager, although Year Of Pain was one of my fave Trek stories across the board. I think I'm still a Next Gen girl at heart though :)

I like em all, there are loads of good novels as well which I've read over the years. I did like Voyager and TNG, who couldn't like Voyager with Robert Beltran looking so pretty every week! BIG DIRTY GRIN HERE, LOL!
I know what you mean about Enterprise, I did get into it eventually, if you watch the whole series it does set things up for TOS, it was a shame it didn't get a longer run as I think it was getting much better when it finished.
My sister is a Dr Who fan, all of the incarnations, she was up at a Dr Who convention in Newcastle last month, so we're a real family of geeks. My elder sister is a Lord of the Rings freak.. I think we all just like escapism really!!
