Just been playing with two new christmas folders. The winter house and ornaments folders are lovely I am sure they will be very popular. I am really impressed with the folders ,I have a few now and think the effects are really good

I love them too! I've got the Christmas ornaments one, but haven't actually tried it out yet, must have a play soon.

I've been making some example cards recently to feature in my blog at some point, and a lot of them seem to involve cuttlebug embossing :D :rolleyes:

I've just checked - 9 in total, 6 A2 and 3 combo cutting and embossing and it was $12 not $13 when I looked.

placed my order etc, with p and p it came to $51 which I thought was great, someone on another site just told me that on top of that I will need to pay duty and vat @ 17.5%, does anyone know how much that's likely to cost me and to whom I pay it?

You will only pay if you get caught Angie which is the luck of the draw really. You will pay whoever delivers the parcel plus their handling fee !!!

I got done by customs for some jewellery last week. I wanted to point out that if you get caught they charge you on the whole amount, not the amount over the £18 allowance (gits!) and then royal mail (in my case) added £8 charge. I wouldn't mind but the VAT was only £4.89.

No they tend to stick a card through your door telling you you've got a parcel with a customs charge. My parcel that I got the charge on was $55 value (similar to yours if that helps). I honestly doubt you'll get caught but if you do there should be about £12 to pay judging by my recent experience.

For all those waiting for cuttlebug from Oh My Crafts, I emailed them yesterday to find out what's going on with my order and got this reply:

"We are expecting to get the new embossing folders in around the following times:

Release #4 – Next week

Seasonal Folders – Early August

As soon as we are able to get these folders in stock we will be shipping out. Keep in mind they will be shipping out in the order they were purchased."

I'm sure they said early July when I ordered them, not too happy at the moment, lots of stores have them in stock over here already.

Have they taken your money yet? They shouldn't have done, so you'd be within your rights to cancel I would think.

The new rates come into force on the 1st of December.... just in time for our nearest and dearest to order our Christmas pressys from the states ;)

I've had my cuttlebug about 16 months and only just started using it properly for embossing and I love it.

I bought one of the flowery embossing folders and last week made a card for a friend. It's just a piece of card embossed with the flowers and then I've put a couple of strips of acetate with the new papermania dimensions dragonflies on so they look like they are hovering around the flowers.

Have just bought pack of 4 flower embossing folders but haven't used them yet.

Hi Lynne, that sounds nice. Cuttlebug embossing makes some of the best cards doesn't it? I love that flowery folder too, I like painting the flowers with H2O's.

Yes I am :) I haven't seen them live for five years but hope to go when they tour next. My username is wishful thinking:cool: but when I say "hubby" my friends know who I'm talking about and its not my other half :D

I am real convert to the cuttlebug folders now. I've got quite a few Quickutz dies but I bought my first Cuttlebug die at Aintree and that's fabulous and now my local Paper Mill Shop has become a stockist I think I might end up bankrupt. I heard today my aunt loved her birthday card she got at the weekend when I used that same folder to create a background for a waterfall card. I'm going to try out my new folders this week and colour them with Sakura pens.

Me too Lynne. I didn't go to the tour this year or to the opening of the O2 arena last. I can't justify the price of the golden circle tickets any more. Mind you, last time I went to see them at the Manchester Stadium I got touched by the god Jon himself. (that was quite a moment :D)

Oh My Crafts were originally, and maybe even still are, on ebay. They had one of the worst feedbacks I could see from US sellers, and I personally avoid them like the plague.

I am not surprised you are having problems with them. When I saw their google advert on here I thought to myself 'oh oh' trouble ahead. Then I read a few glowing reports and was reconsidering placing an order..... I am so glad I didnt now.

Good luck with getting your goods in timely fashion.

Personally I am hoping they will have them at Newbury on Sat.

A lot of the neg feedback on ebay, quite rightly point out that OMC took money for goods that they hadn't even got in stock, OMC replied stating that they state this when you order that there are certain shipping dates, quite a few never recieved their goods, e-mails ignored.
One question, if you pay by pay pal are you protected?

I've just checked my account and it says processed, but it doesn't say when, I tried to e-mail them but it says something about the mail account not in use. will give it a few days then if it doesn't arrive I'll take action.

Just checked PP resolution centre and the case is closed.

The reason:

This dispute closed because it was open for more than 45 days after the transaction date or did not meet other criteria for opening a dispute.

I opened a dispute today but I placed my order on 26th May

ah right I see, you've been waiting since may? that sooo does not sound good. So how long should I wait till I do a dispute with paypal?
When I was placing my order OMC said on their site that the shipping dates would be 15th july and the seasonal folders would be sent in august, so do I wait till august to see if I recieve them? also they said they would send out in order of who ordered 1st.
So basically do paypal give you 45 days from the date you order, to make a dispute for unrecieved goods.
When I looked at the negs on ebay, they seemed to have every excuse under the sun for people not recieving the goods.
If we got our money back from paypal would we get our postage back as well?

Personally, I think you should wait for now as you will probably get yours when you are expecting them. I was expecting mine at the beginning of July which is why I lodged my dispute

My order was 26 May as well, I got this reply to my e-mail today:

We recently got the Release #4 folders in stock, we are working on shipping them out as quickly as we can. We are currently working on shipping June 2nd. The seasonal folders have not yet been released, they are scheduled for release around the first part of August. All preorders will be shipping in order by the date they were purchased.

Bloody hell if they are only just shipping your 2nd june order, god knows when mine will get shipped, I specifically ordered some xmas stuff so that I could make an early start on my xmas cards, that's not looking very likely.

apparentley they are shipping early june orders now!, I'm getting really peed off with them as they send me an e-mail virtually everyday flogging stuff, but yet we can't contact them! The first of my folders arrived from OMC today (not the seasonal ones but the ones from release 4, border embossing, paisley etc). Apparently the rest of them will ship when they get them. I suppose at least I have some of them and I don't mind waiting a bit longer for the rest. I placed the order on June 12th for those of you who are still waiting.

I got my folders on Friday (and my money back form OH today) including the seasonal ones, you have more patience than me Sammy, my order was placed mid-May, I just couldn't wait anymore.
