how do I stop the tan mat getting marked? its transferring onto my designs

not sure what you mean Jeanette is the tan mat being cut? if so you need to remove a shim as it sounds like the pressure is a bit high.
I know when I am using my wizard to cut I have a spacer mat in place beneath the die but when I do the 2nd pass through the machine to emboss I need to remove the spacer from below the die and add the tan embossing mat above the die and paper so the overall pressure is less on the embossing pass than on the cutting one if that makes sense

I agree that the pressure could be too much, it was very much trial & error with the big shot & I had a similar prob with the mat being cut into. I've ordered a 12 x 12" mat and intend to cut it to fit in the nesties - will try one first and let u kno how it works
