As Lucyannie has not reregistered, we should not pass on addresses as its personal information (and could well have legal implications). Lucyannie, if you are lurking, please can you reregister or sing out if you have called yourself something else.

The only person who has given any guarantee to protect our personal information is Graham as forum owner - if I give anyone of you my address I am at risk of you choosing to pass it to another forum member without my consent. However it is not really polite to pass on personal information without the agreement of the person who's information it is.

Macey I would suggest you repost your request in a thread of it's own using Lucyannie's forum name in the thread title.... that would perhaps be more likely to catch her eye is she is here but has not chosen to re-register yet.

One other thought, I am not sure if anyone would have Lucyannie's details yet as this is her first swap I think.. or at least I can't recall her swapping before.

I beg to differ with you on that, as when this kind of thing arose on Shopping Telly, the moderator (Fraggle) said quite categorically that passing on an address was not to happen, however well intentioned. Being as her background is law, I don't doubt she knows what she is talking about.

When we sign up for swaps, we entrust our details to select people we have chosen to give our details to. How the Shopping Telly forum operates is not our concern, but as Graham owns both sites, presumably the same rules apply, as its good sense.

On a totally ethical stand point I respect everyone privacy and have never given address unless I first ask permisson of the person who's address it is. There are numerous forum members who can testify to having received pm's from me saying I have been asked to give their address and asking them if it is ok to do so.

We all get asked for addresses in many aspects of life and have you ever heard of anyone being prosecuted for passing on a Sister or freinds new address.... I think not.
