Lovely card sugarplum, have been wanting to try safmat for a while now as I used to buy Letraset Studio-Tac, It's like making your own transparent stickers, I like that !

The safmat is really good A clear matt film the you print onto and then peel the backing off revealing a sticky side which allows you to ahere it to your project.
The only thing is you do have to be careful when sticking it to your card as I made the mistake of rubbing my finger over the printing on my first attempt and ended up smudging it. Perhaps if I had allowed it to dry longer it wouldnt have happened. The good thing was I was able to peel the smudged wording off withut a problem and just used a different piece. I am going to be down laoding lots of fonts I think as there are some many nice one available

lol it does look as though it would be very useful doesnt it, only thing is i wonder how you manage to make sure that you make the best use of the sheet, ie getting your text in the right places so as not to leave big gaps that you are then not able to use

That's my worry as well, guess you could print a whole sheet off on an ordinary piece of printer paper to see how it looked and if it was spaced out correctly for cutting and then print it on the safmat  The A4 size is out of stock at Letraset otherwise it would have (accidentally) fallen into my basket

I saved the sheet that I typed in wordpad so that when I go back I can fit other wording around the ones already there save again before deleting the older words that I dont want to print out That way each time you go backyou should be able to type on the available space It does say in someinstructions I read that you can put the sheet through the printer multiple times but not sure how it will cope if I am cutting bits out! I didnt really think about it 1st time as I was just dying to try it

Can I just say aswell thankyou for the lovely comments about the card I really appreciate them

Be wary about how many fonts you install on your computer - they can slow it down if you have too many installed -er insert red face here cuz I don't always follow that advice myself as I am a bit of a font addict ;)

And on that note may I recommend Black Chancery to you - it's a lovely font for greetings on cards.

I see someone futher down has already answered this with the suggestion of printing onto regular copy paper first to test out the spacing - that is what I have always done - printed a draft copy first to allow me to check actual postioning, sizing etc. Another suggestion I would add is for "favorite fonts" - type up and keep a sample sheet with lines that say something like this :

Arial Font 12 point
Arial Font 16 point
Arial Font 24 point

Now of course you actually set the font size to the size you have typed in each line, that way you have a visual reference of actual size. And keep in mind not all fonts are equal - Arial @ 24 point may be bigger or smaller than say Bondoni. Which is why I suggest you do this only for the fonts you like to use the most.
