Finally, here is DD's 16th birthday card, all made with six sheets of 12 x 12:
First we have it boxed, spot the dragon decoration on the lid.

That looks lovely Lorraine. I am sure your DD will be thrilled with it. I really like how you've co-ordinated the glittery edging around the pictures.

Fab origami book Lorraine, mind if I ask where you got the dragon images, they look great.

Hannah had an old calendar I saved and recycled, much better than chucking it away. Some of the piccies were far too big to go into the card, so she has a wall hanging (the origami book) and I will miraculously 'find' the calendar pictures I had left over. The illustrations are by an artist that lives in Tintagel, that Hannah admires his work greatly. We have bought her a book for her birthday, that she has stood stroking and looked longingly at whenever we have been in the shop in Halifax.

Thanks Lorraine, the pics reminded me of some of the illustrations on the covers of the books by Anne McCaffrey. If Hannah loves Dragons and enjoys reading too, then she may enjoy these books - there is a whole series of them about the Dragons of Pern.

If I remember rightly I think it was 3 x 3", but I am not sure. What I ended up doing was to make a template out of a bit of brown paper and made sure I got the dimensions right before I used more expensive card. As I am not absolutely sure, I'd suggest you do the same thing, as a dummy run, even using as a trial a bit of scrap card from a cereal pack to make sure it sits properly in the bit you are meant to hinge.

I love your card Lorraine & I'm sure your daughter will treasure it always.
Is the artist Peter Pracownik? The images you've used look very much like his style & I believe he lives in Cornwall. He is by far my favourite fantasy artist, I met him once & he's lovely :D

That card is simply amazing! Recycling the calendar pictures is a great idea. I might have to have a look at some of the old calendars that I haven't been able to bear throwing away...

Yes thats right. The shop in Halifax we bought the autographed book of illustrations from is owned by good friends of his.
My daughter loved her card, she just kept turning it over and over, looking at the different views.

Have you or your daughter ever been to Collectomania, that's were I met him & got a signed print & bought an original framed watercolour for £60 - I thought it was a bargain!! Not sure if he still does signings but might be worth while keeping an eye out for any appearances at conventions :D
