Well I'm pleased to say that one of my QVC peonies has bloomed - there are 3 plants, 2 are short and bushy but the third was twiggy and long and has developed 4 buds. 2 of them have opened this week - they're not particularly big as the plants aren't properly established being new - but they are pretty, white and very delicate. I'm a bit disappointed that the other plants have no buds :( ,but let's hope it's a good sign for next year and I get some then.
Otherwise, I've gone overboard with investing in lily bulbs - my tree lilies are growing nicely as are my other lilies. But I've also bought a bulk purchase of lilies from IW last weekend - 50 for £12.99 which is really good value and they are so easy to grow. I just put a few in each pot, stand back and let them grow. Add a bit of Root Booster and feed regularly with Flower Power and the nutrient spray and Bill's your uncle (I never had an uncle Bob). So this summer, I'm hoping to have pots of lovely lilies all over the flat and the balcony! The smell and colour should be gorgeous! Touch wood, fingers crossed and the rest of it ;)
And then I've got my geraniums, sweet peas and phlox to put out in pots next bank holiday weekend, should add some colour to the balcony very soon :).
Well that's this months' balcony update, I am definately not green fingered yet but am certainly trying ;)
