Hi there,
Just found your forum and having a look around at the moment. But I thought I would jump right in and post a page I made (which was actually made for a demo at my crop about the technique of layering).
http://www.crafttelly.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=18&pictureid=86
I have scrapbookers and cardmakers at my crop and I like to show that scrapbookers can be cardmakers and vice versa, so I made a birthday card using the same materials and technique.
http://www.crafttelly.com/forum/picture.php?albumid=19&pictureid=88
There are more pictures on my Scrapbooking Blog (http://scrapbooking-layout-inspiration.blogspot.com/2009/01/can-yu-guess-where-other-photographs.html) and THIS (http://scrapbooking-layout-inspiration.blogspot.com/2009/01/hidden-pictures-in-scrapbooking-layout.html)post shows where the hidden photos are that make this a multi-photo layout!
P.S. is it because I have only just registered as a member that I am unable to put on an avatar or signature? Not showing the options in my CP at the mo.
A warm welcome Sunday.
Glad you jumped right in! love the lo and the card.

Hi SundayL
Love your layout and cards - they are really beautiful!
You have to donate to the forum in order to have an avatar, etc. There's information about it on the toolbar at the top of the page.

Thanks ladies, are there many scrapbookers here? I have been scrapbooking for a while now and I give demos and beginners workshops locally, so am happy to help anyone, but also to learn so would love to see some members LOs too.
And thanks Gill - I will go have a look a the donate bit!

I know that there are some scrapbookers out there - Lola is one but she's on holiday at teh moment. I have 3 scrapbooks waiting to begin, just trying to gather together family piccies etc before I start.
I'm a bit overawed by the prospect of starting so any suggestions about getting started would be appreciated!
And your little girl is gorgeous!

Aw thanks re my DD - everybody (inlcuding complete strangers!) comments on her hair, as it is lovely and curly and blonde and lush. Gets it from her father's side - as sadly mine is naturally as straight as a die and the colour is now out of a bottle! :D
As for starting a scrapbook... the following is from a post on my blog (http://scrapbooking-layout-inspiration.blogspot.com/2007/08/scrapbooking-albums-5-tips-for.html)...
...my advice to all beginners is:
1. DON'T attempt a whole album - start by laying out a single page, then another and then another.
2. Start with your most recent photographs - these memories are fresh in your mind and journaling comes much more easily.
3. If you are doing older photos, then concentrate on the layout leaving space for journaling - or even put your notes/journaling on the back (if only for posterity's sake)
4. Try to start on an 8x8 layout - there isn't so much blank space to cover than 12x12 and the picture takes up more space and has more impact - it's just not so daunting.
5. If you really want to make an album - start by making a paper bag book or a 6x6 album bound with book rings or even ribbon, pages are filled a lot quicker and subsequently your album is finished a lot quicker - this gives you enthusiasm to do more and bigger albums.
6. If you get stuck in a rut when doing an album on a specific theme (like a particular person's album), stop trying and create a layout about something completely different, this will free you from the constraints of your album and let your creativity flow, it should jump start your album pages again.
The rest of the post is HERE (http://scrapbooking-layout-inspiration.blogspot.com/2007/08/scrapbooking-albums-5-tips-for.html)
Try making a little album first Marie, it will help! What is the subject of your albums-to-do?

Hi and welcome! Love your LO. I 'dabble' in scrapbooking, no where near as lovely as yours though.
I love scrapbook challenges - where we all create a LO from a theme, maybe we should organise one of those on here sometime.

Tru-ella - Do you share your LOs? Can I see ? ;) I have a monthly sketch and challenge in my newsletter, I could easily set up a thread once a month to post a past sketch/challenge, what do you think?
Fabyon, thanks for the compliment... nice blog btw, I have just put the "Linked Within" widget on my Blogger blog as you have on yours, I'd seen it before - finally got round to it!... looks good!
Jeanette, thanks for the welcome, does your avatar ever get anything out of that purse? poor thing! LOL :)

Sadly not SundayL! I'm on a stash diet because we are doing major alterations to our house! I have been very naughty just lately though

Well I look forward to seeing them soon, I'm sure they will be lovely, but all that matters is that YOU like them, anyway!
Sorry to hear about the stash diet Jeanette, won't be forever (hopefully!) and I won't tell anyone about any slip-ups, if you don't! Shhhhh! ;)
I am on a self-imposed "use up what you've jolly well got already!" :)

Hi Sunday, that's all great advice. I've got a couple of 8 x 8 albums and a 12 x 12, I'm going to do the big one as a history one of my parents' families. The others I'm going to build up piccies of my nieces and nephews. It will take some time (oh I mean months and months!) to pull it all the piccies together, as you've suggested I'm going to do a few test pages first.
Jeanette - I think that there are a lot of us who are on self-imposed stash diets but it's scary how much stuff I've got after less than a year of crafting! I'm guessing you've got more than I have if you've been crafting longer.

I have too much Marie. When the house is done my little cottage industry is going to start. I have loads of people asking for cards

Lovely LO Sunday :) And big warm welcome to CT.com!
I made 2 scrapbooks (one 8x8 & one 12x12) for my parents for Christmas 2007 - completed both within a few weeks  I did post pics a while back, now I'm just trying to remember it was before or after the forum went bang last year??? Hmmm - I shall go have a look round.
My next aim is a Wedding album - for which I'm desperately trying to save up for lots of lovely K&Co Mira stuff & I really want to do some kind of mini-album, probably chipboard.

And having looked at it again, I think I know what mum's getting for her birthday in July - some more pages to get the album up to dat LOL. Now - do I start making them now, or shall I leave it till the last minute again

Nice use of patterned paper there, I note you said you made an 8x8 for your Dad, why not make an 8x8 for your mum this time, or even a cute little 6x6 (like a paperbag album) I am planning to do some articles on those in my newsletter/blog soon. Might be better (quicker) than a 12x12 !
