Just thought I would let folks know what fun I had this week down at Graphicus. I went down on Wednesday to do 2 workshops - a Tag Book on Wednesday and a stampbord project on Thursday. Turquoise went too and we stayed in a lovely B&B - twin room with en suite - there was even Molton Brown in the en suite!

Wednesday's workshop was lots of fun, it was very much a technique driven workshop and the Tag Book we made at the end more of a by-product of our playing with Ranger products and Tim Holtz type techniques rather than the goal of the workshop.

Thursday was different - this was a project driven workshop with the project being to alter a mirror with stampboard pieces. This was lots of fun - there were so many inks and stamps and stuff to play with - my mirror isn't finished yet but I have all my bits home with me and will get it done over the next few days.

The company was great - Turquoise as always had me laughing my socks off - and a special treat for both of us was to meet a fellow forum member LynneH for dinner on Wednesday night! We had a lovely evening and I was sure I was gonna do myself an injury cuz we laughed so much - thank you both ladies I really enjoyed my evening!

Before I came home, needless to say I went on a bit of a spending spree and bought loads of goodies - Stamps, ink pads, Tim Holtz DVD, a set of Nesties, some Stickles Distress Glitters and a few other bits and bobs - hope hubby does not freak out too badly when he figures out how much new stash I have !!

Phree, thank you for sharing. So glad you and Turquoise enjoyed yourselves, and that you had fun meeting LynneH.

I wish I could get to these things, but I am very phobic at travelling long distances. Stupid I know, I flew to the states when I was younger and it didn't faze me at all. These days a trip to the local shop leaves me quite breathless and panicky.

Newbury is coming up next month, and I have managed to make it the last three years but this year I am so extra tired not sure I have the reserves to cope.

Anyhow, sorry rambling about me when I meant to tell you how pleased I was you had such a great time.

Are we going to get the chance to see the tag book, and indeed the mirror when it's finished?

Thanks Phree and Turquoise. I had such a great time meeting you both, although I'm dead jealous that I didn't get to do the workshops. I am going to Graphicus next week though so that is a small consolation.

I put a photo of the tag book on my blog today. The stampbord project will take a little longer to finish but Turquoise was more or less done so she should be able to show you hers.

The tag books looks lovely Phree. It's a great showcase of the different techniques. I really must try and get to a workshop when Maya is older.

Glad you had a fabulous time Phree. It's not my sort of crafting at all, but I'd love to attend a workshop like that just to have a go at the techniques with a really experienced and talented tutor.

Thanks Phree for letting us look at your lovely tag book.Wish I could get to one of the Graphicus workshops but I live much too far away. Does anyone know where I can get the Cut and Dry foam as I'd love to have a go with the Tim Holtz distress ink pads having seen Sheena using them on IW the other day. They were selling the ink pads along with the foam but sold out before I got round to ordering them and most of the web sites offering the pads don't mention the Cut and Dry foam.

Hi chicken licken - Cut N Dry is available from loads of craft shops - and on eBay. I bought mine in Graphicus. However there are so many outlets selling - I googled - I think it's best if I just recommend tht you do the same - google Cut N Dry Foam and you may well find one of your own favorite online sellers has it - if not one of your own fav sellers then there are plenty to choose from.

Point of interest - the foam they show on CAC seems to have been cut in half - the full sheet is 8" x 10". When I have seen CAC selling this they seem to bundle it with Distress ink pads and when you see the piece of foam next to the ink pad it just does not look like the full sheet to me - the ink pad gives me a sense of scale so I am pretty sure they are selling 2 x half sheets with the ink pads.

I thought it looked like two quarter sheets to me Phree. But as you say it's difficult to tell on TV. They did look much smaller than my complete sheet though.
