View Full Version : Have You Enjoyed Craft Day
Just a little bit of fun, vote on what you think of Craft Day!
I'd like a "could be better, could be worse" option. Eek, I'm sitting on the fence aren't I? I've enjoyed bit of it, but I don't like shows about cross stitch, jewellery making, or decoupage.
I haven't voted either. I just don't like watching the craft shows on QVC anymore. I do have a look to see what's been on and have been disappointed so far. I haven't bought anything and although I like to do cross stitch there was nothing there that I would dream of buying.

It was ok what I saw but none of the above really describe how I feel about it.
There is one thing I would like to congratulate QVC on, and thats not making RM spend 15 minutes demoing wackytac and xyron!!

I quite like craft day, but I feel obliged to watch it all, then end up feeling frazzled from watching it all day
I missed out a few hours during the day today, which was a bit more sensible :D

Bit disappointed..was expecting something..mm..better, just seemed boring, kept waiting for that special suprise which never happened ..and some of those card and envelope offers..oh yuk! Even bored with the K & Co, which seemed very much ~samey~..or dull, trouble is I have got used to more exciting papers from the likes of Daisy Bucket :p and other manufactures...only my view of course and there would be no harmony if we all sang the same tune! ;)

I had a fantastic craft day.
I ditched QVC and went to Newbury for the stamp fair instead!
Spent way too much money, can't actually walk this morning where I am so achey and tired, but it was worth it!
Bit disappointed I couldnt get the new cuttlebug folders which I wanted to have a kite at first hand but they will still be available at Cutting Edge Crafts instead, so I am well happy.
I did try and watch from about 8pm but by 9 I was dozing on and off and I woke up sometime after midnight with some strange woman in pigtails trying to flog me some phones.
I am sure I will pay for it now, probably spend the rest of the week in bed, but it beats the heck out of screaming at the TV cos Anne Dawson was giving me the irrits. Have taped it all too so will likely be able to FF through the whole day in about an hour!

Saw the TSV & thought that had probably set the tone, so... I didn't watch any either :o

I had it on from about 6-9pm and got bored. It was really on for a bit of background noise as there was nothing else on the TV last night for me except Casualty
I was sitting wondering how many more plugs for her NEW workshop Dawn Bibby could squeeze in - she managed 4 in under 3 minutes.

Even bored with the K & Co, which seemed very much ~samey
Me too!!! I was really looking forward to the K&Co shows but we've seen it all before. Even the blue awning flip book didn't scream 'buy me'. What I would like is pads of speciality paper on their own not a few sheets in a kit with a load of grand adhesions and stickers. I also expected to see more blue awning and sea glass:rolleyes:

Had a quick look at the TSV when I got up but didnt think it was something I would use a lot...so didnt buy.
Went to do a bit of shopping then took the dog to the Hydrotherapy pool and after that OH had decided he was watching cricket. We do have a box in the bedroom but nothing was pulling me to sit there all afternoon.
Watched the K&Co shows but found them a bit boring.
Jeannette do you have Hobbycraft near you? I managed to buy the Blue awning pad in Hobbycraft a few weeks back:)for £9.99.It is gorgeous...but has been put in my just to look at pile:D:D

I do LPS but it always seems a bit behind the times when I do go there and very expensive. BTW, I have a 'just to look at pile' too

I had a lovely day, was out with family until about 4pm, tuned in for a bit of the Quikkutz show, thought it so boring switched off. Only saw Last Choir Standing, spent the rest of the evening in the garden, sipping beer then wine, watching the sun go down with OH.
I really enjoyed it. Spent most of the afternoon with it on in the back ground while I made a mini album. Though RM's hours were good and that she looked very happy and relaxed. The stitch and knit ladies did very well as 1st time guests.

Our local hobbycraft (West End, Southampton) seems to be pulling its socks up in that respect and had lovely new AG and K and Co when I went there about 4 weeks ago. Prices not bad if you allow for the fact that you aren't paying p and p

I won 20 quidsworth of vouchers from their website draw (you register on the website for email updates and they draw out so many winners every month....I wouldn't have gone there otherwise as its a bit of a trek...was pleased that I had

Snap! Was just going to say that it seems much better. I went there last week for the first time in years, and was pleasantly suprised. Lucky you Sheila!
I would normally go to the Ferndown one if I do go to Hobbycraft- is this farther away for you Sheila?

a bit, but also the one at west end is near southampton where we go for other shopping so less out of our way
Off topic slightly, but the large white building opposite HC in West end used to be a maternity centre where 2 of my sons were born. I noticed last week that it is now a clinic in the Priory group- catering for all of us mothers who can't cope no doubt!

I actually saw more of Craft Day than I expected - not sure there's a catagory in the poll to quite capture how I felt about. I put a few things on chq hold, cancelled a couple this morning but still have the OTO PM stickers & the K&Co glitter alphabet stickers on chq hold while I make my mind up. I think in general, it annoyed me not to see more 'proper' demos, as usual with QVC. I wish they would crank up the demo count (rather than show as many pre-made samples as poss) if they're doing a full day
Was happy to see my Berry Sweet shown - can't wait for it to arrive now as there was at least one thing that you couldn't see in the pic online LOL
I think though, that I felt a little more encouraged to get started on my Crimble cards though - not inspired, just in the mood IYSWIM...

I agree about the scant time spent demoing watched the CAC 2 hr show today and the demo of the cricut was excellent QVChave the products but rattle through them too quickly
The difference there, though, Sugarplum, is that Cricut will have paid CAC for the 2 hours airtime!

I liked some of craft day, I have most of the shows I wanted to watch recorded (due to essay writing and early drunken evening). Of course I'd bought the things I wanted cos I saw them on here; I must admit I can just watch craft all day, except for Rosemary's scrapbooking (I like her but the products are boring) and Quickcutzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I didn't go for the TSV I thought it very ordinary and not keen on concept die cut cards. I love to watch Leonie whatever she is showing and it's cool to have QVC craft so much more professional and less sell than C&C.

I didn't watch, however I did see the launch.. don't know why, I can't stand KanBan stuff (although I know it sold out) to me it's all rubbish & after their lie about designing their last TSV no money of mine will go on their stuff.

I only saw a bit with Leonie and even she looked bored and the samples were boring. Ther kit didn't look that great in quality to me. But I never buy kits anyway.
I can't be doing with christmas so I didn't bother watching anything else.

Thanks! :)
