I was chatting to a lady at work last night who was telling me about a project she has been working on for a while now - a crochet quilt - she doesn't have much left to do but needs another ball of wool ........
The problem is that the wool was brought in the 70's!!!
So, is there a 'wool matching' site on the web? Or do you lovely people know anywhere that may be able to help?
Over to you, all help/info greatfully received!

I don't know of any site that does anything like this, but if she still has the band which goes around the ball and has all the details it may be worth posting them on here. It is a long shot but maybe someone just has what she is after. I used to do loads of knitting in the 80's and still have bits (actually too much if I was really honest :o) from then. The problem is that wool is like wallpaper and the dye batch numbers should really match to ensure that the colour is the same.

Thanks Lioness! She does have all the info, the company is French and still going so I'll tell her to google it ......
I did suggest she put the details into Ebay, a long shot but you never know!
I'll get the details from her and post them here too, that's a good idea.

It is along shot but charity shops often have these balls of yarn in and unfinished knitting projects so she might be lucky there.
There is a website called Jeanette's rare yarns, you'll have to try googling (and may be spelt differently).
