Does anyone else get a distinct line around the edge of their embossing folder or are you able to emboss in the middle of a card (like they show) without cutting it out? It's not so bad for the ones when I'm making a mat but the borders and smaller ones are starting to irritate me. Perhaps I'm using the wrong combination of plates?
Please help!

I do too Sam but it doesn't bother me too much as the embossing folders aren't big enough for the cards I make so I use them for toppers

They shouldn't advertise them being used direct onto cards if it's not possible to do so. Grrr!

The Americans use smaller cards than use so maybe they do fit onto their cards without leaving a border

I know what you mean and the border ones annoy me more so , as i bought those with the intention of doing direct to card. This question has been raised on anothe forum I was reading and someone suggested peeloffs to cover the lines but as I am not a fan of over use of peel offs wasn't keen on that idea. Are you using them with a cuttlebug , I am using a big shot just wondered if it makes any difference which machine you use

I use a BS too. The only other thing I can suggest is to make a feature of the lines and may to use a score board to accentuate them

So does nobody have any suggestions on stopping the lines happening? I came across 2 so far:
1) don't send the folder through completely but bring it back out the way it went in to stop the bottom line, then you can make a feature of the side lines. This worked when I tried it but you have to get used to how far through to send the folder.
2) put a thin piece of scrap card around the edges but not over the pattern. Not tried this yet, it seems a bit of a faff to be honest.

Like one of the earlier posters I just use mine as toppers.
Really beautiful cards
