Impressabilities in Cuttlebug

I bought an impressability die this week and it doesn't seem to work very well. I know you can use it for other techniques as I found a blog on Spellbinders website but I'm very disappointed with the embossing (the debossed side is better). Has anyone had any luck with these?

I bought a flower embossibility die the other week, blarf. You have reminded me to try it in the Cuttlebug, have you tried adding shims of paper or card?

I tried all kinds of combinations but I was winging it a bit as there's no sandwich instructions with the die. The blog I read mentioned spritzing the card with water first to get a good impression, that sounds like the product is badly designed if you have to do that. I don't think I'll be buying any more.
