On my way back home from a business trip yesterday, I managed to get to Pondskippers 1/2hr before they closed, for a flying visit!

I managed to get the Everyday version of that lovely CraftyBitz style kit that they did last October (boxed and completely untouched) for £15 - it included all 16 packs of embellishments and, I think, something like 50 co-ordinating cards.

I also bought 2 packs of the Snowglobe Shaker Cards (£3.50 per pack) that they did last year, that I absolutely loved but thought they were quite dear when you added in the p&p.

Finally, I got 4 packs of embellies from the Christmas version of the above "Craftybitz-esque" kit to replenish the ones that I liked working with best last Christmas @ £1.95 per pack.

Had hoped to get there with at least an hour to spare, but it wasn't to be, and I know that I could have found more of the things that I like, if I had had more time.

Sounds good Dips well done.
The times I've been they haven't had kits of any sort and I've always found it a bit of a pain to look through things as they weren't very well organised. It's a while since I've been so perhaps it's changed. lol

Shame you didn't have much time you could have popped into the Alan & Barry shop too.lol

They are in Peterborough kriskros.

I do agree, Pam, that it is hard to shop in a rush - especially if you have a mental "list" of things that you want that you've seen on the TV. I was looking out for 2 of the recent PODS that took place in Craft Week. I don't think that they were there but I could have very easily missed them. They do currently have a lot of the elements of the "Decoupage by Numbers" PODs - not so much entire kits, as the lady that runs the shop tends to break them down into the compenent parts.

I took a detour on my journey to/from Nottingham. I think when I next need to visit this supplier, I'll arrange my meeting with them in the afternoon and go to Pondskippers on my way up - this should give me more time!

lol Dips that's exactly what they've been doing everytime I've visited. The lady is lovely though and very helpful.

We often go to Tescos in Peterborough to do our weekly shop and it's very near there. I've just had a look and they are open on Friday afternoons (when we do our shopping). I don't think they used to open on Fridays or it might just have been Friday afternoons so I had to get someone to take me at another time. Have to get hubby to take me there next time we do a shop down there. lol;)

Pam, don't go on a Friday as they aren't open!!!!!!!!!
It's ruddy typical, OH wanted to go to Stanground today to get some fishing stuff so I asked if he'd take me to Pondskipper too as the site says open Mon-Fri 10-4.
We got there and it was shut, grrrrrrrr! The sign on the door says closed Mon and Fri.
To make it worse I was going to ring them to check they were open and told OH NOT to switch the computer off as I wanted their number. So I walked back in the room and he'd turned it off anyway.
We're off to the outlaws in a couple of days so I won't have another to go for at least a couple of weeks...I nearly cried when I saw they were shut as I've been asking OH to take me there for about 3 months now and he always moans and makes excuses.

Oh, what a nuisance DD. I'm glad you said this, as I do have imprinted on my brain that they close at 4pm (very relevant for me as I can only normally justify a trip if I'm combining it with business) but I hadn't twigged that it was closed on Mon and Fri.

Hope you get back there soon!

You have my sympathy, Diana. Last week we went to Polesden Lacey which was all engineered towards a craft shop in nearby Bookham village. Rolled up at 4.30 to find the closed sign on the door but also helpfully stating the opening hours were 10-5. I don't know how some of these craft shops are managing to stay in business at the moment.

Thanks Diana trip saved. lol We go to Peterborough about once a month for food shopping, usually go to Wisbech because it's nerarer. Can only get there on a Friday unless I can persuade my son to take me. lol

It's bad that the wrong details are on the web site isn't it!!!!

Now we know where it is I've been promised a trip back in the not too distant future (probably around the time he needs to visit the fishing shop again!) so I'll let the lady know that I had a wasted journey previously.
If it wasn't so highly recommended I wouldn't be going back at all so I'm sure she must have lost some custom that way.
Sorry to hear about your disappointment too nicecupoftea, it's so annoying when best laid plans go horribly wrong. Especially when it's craft related! :D

We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused by the times on our website  (which has now been changed)

We tried opening from Monday to Friday for a while but it didn't work out and although we changed the plaque on the door we overlooked the days on the site.. I hope it doesn't put you off.

We are open Tuesday - Thursday 10 - 4 (late until 7 on the 3rd Thursday of the month) and
1st Saturday in the month 10 - 4.

Please come and say hello if you are popping in.

We picked up the posting on here when someone Googled us and told us of the problem

Again, sorry if we put anyone out.

Thanks, Pondskipper, I think you can see from my original post that I had a good (but too short) time on my visit - hope to be back in the not too distant future!

Wow, me thinks it was nice of Pondskipper to take the time to come on here and apologise for the confusion...... thanks!

Thank you for your comments. We do try not to upset people :)

We are having a new website which will have a shop too as quite a few people come to use from a good distance away and whilst it is lovely to meet them - and some have become friends - it's not really worth it if you only want a peel off or two at 35p each!

We will be trying to put as much on there as we can but as you may know we are a clearance warehouse and cannot guarantee what depth of stock we will have on an item so we will have to make sure we keep a sharp eye on the inventory and nab some for the web stock!

Needless to say the prices will be the same as in the warehouse with P&P added as frugally as possible :)

Phree, I had a quick look at your blog and the cards are truly lovely :D

Dips, next time you come in say hello and tell us who you are - it will be nice to put a face to the name.

Thanks again

Thanks for the kind words about my blog. I just took a wee peak via Google for your web site - Scotland is a bit far to travel for a peel off or two.... or a rubber stamp or two, OK lets be honest a few dozen rubber stamps :D. It would be great if you could let those of us who live too far away know when your web shop is up and running.

Thank you for coming on to apologise Pondskipper - I'm glad you don't have cctv covering your doorstep as OH said I looked like I was about to cry when I realised you were closed.
I will definitely be coming back when I can persuade him to take me :D
