Cheap nail varnish remover or you can rub your blades with one of those sticky dot remover rubbers.

If you don't have any acetone based cheap nail polish remover, try blending soloution for alcohol inks - I find that works a treat.

I always have a bottle of "Sticky Stuff Remover" in my craft room - that is what it's called! I used to only be able to get it from Lakeland but I noticed it in Asda's recently. Wouldn't be without it.

Ta for info ladies - I struggled to clean scissors after cutting out stamps mounted on EZ Mount. Mind you, I didn't use my crafty scissors to do it - just the plain old household pair :D

Guess who used her crafty scissors to the same Welly?

Doh - thanks for the tips everyone, I ended up using WD 40!

My nail varnish remover is OPI and has no acetone - trust me for buying the good stuff! We don't have meths - do you think Vodka would do the same?

They are now lovely and clean and sharp (thanks to the Fiskars sharpener I got in clearance)!

Never mind about how to clean your scissors, Welly. What stamps have you been using the EZ mount for?

Elusive Images Fancy Mandalas & the DL Multibuy of EI sketchy alphabet, All of a Twitter & Flora Bella. Got them a few months back...Just working up to maybe possibly getting the Snow Is Falling plate next, maybe depending on whether C&C gets it back in stock so I can use my voucher :D

OMG, you ladies are in good form today, laughing my socks off here!!

But I agree we certainly don't want anyone sticking their craft scissors, or any other kind of scissors into welly!!

Welly do you have blisters yet ? I have been cutting out rubber for the last week.... I bought so much of it on holiday.... still have that illuminated alphabet to cut - the one that comes on 2 x A4 themeplates - but I have been spreading out my cutting cuz last time I got a blister from my Scissors!

I spent the weekend cutting my Bear-iations stamps and 4 sets of Cute Companians - and I have blisters Phree and a deep mark around the base of my thumb. This is why my scissors got sticky. They are not well cut out, I wish I could get that lovely rounded look! There is someting to be said for wood backed stamps!

You have my sympathies ROC.... cutting rubber can get to be quite painful! I brought home 5 A4 themeplates from Graphicus and err shall we say a small selection of some of their DL and A6 plates so beleive me I know exactly how your poor hands are feeling.

EDIT : to get back on track I should add that my scissors however are in tip top shape - NO stickiness left on them courtesay of some of the Adirondack Alcohol Ink Blending Solution :D

I don't know if this is helpful or not, but Fiskars do a pair of scissors with non-stick coated blades. I haven't tried them myself, but it might stop the problem happening in the future. :)

Hi Vicki and welcome to the forum.

On the subject of scissor blades, I have found the easiest way of sharpening blades of scissors or punches, is to cut out aluminium foil. Agree about the sticky stuff remover too.

I was about to try that method out myself having never sharpened any of my scissors or got round to buying a 'proper' scissors sharpener...
