Just watching Sue using a brayer on C&C, and noticed she uses it completely differently to Barbara. Simple technique but still looks good.
I was wondering if anyone knows of a book describing different brayering techniques and what you can do with a brayer? I love the landscapes that Barbara does, but would like to learn as many ways as possible to use the brayer.

Just something I observed while watching Sue brayer....firstly she did say she did not rate herself as a particularly skilled person with a brayer.....and from what I saw her making (no malice intended here) I would agree - she does not compare to the likes of Barbara Gray or Michelle Zindorf.
However.... Sue's finished cards were fab.... but they did depend on the cardstock used - I noticed it was mosly glossy white card she was using - I loved the way she used some paper towel to smooth the inks while they were still wet, and that sanding technique was fabulous!
Anyhow if anyone is thinking of having a go - make sure you are using a glossy cards.... As for me I have been googling 6 inch speedball brayers cuz mine is 4 inches and sometimes size does matter ;)

Ooh, I didn't realise you could get bigger Speedballs. It would be nice to have a bigger one that would pick up more of the colours on the Big & Juicy pads. I must crack the basics first though. I still keep getting stupid lines!

Not speedball but at least a choice of brayer sizes:

Not sure they look as good as the ones Barbara sells though and no sizes are shown sad:

just a note. I had a Woodware brayer, and it was awful, so anyone thinking of buying 100% recommend paying the extra for a Speeball brayer

Thanks Flowerpot. I heard Barbara say that in the last show, and I noticed that she had one. :clapping: It's just the perfectionist in me finds them really annoying. I guess I will just have to learn to accept them and work with them.
