Well spotted Graham, although I see that is a sale price so anyone thinking of investing may need to be quick to take advantage of the saving.

Thanks Graham but it looks like the BS doesn't come with anything

Was just about to say the same thing. The extras included in the C&C/Ideal World package are necessities.

Its possible they think people are upgrading and have dyes already that will also fit the Big Shot. I think though that they should point out that if you are new to crafting, as Anne says, the extras are necessitities if you haven't had a system of any kind before. With the Cuttlebug, you get enough in the box to have a play and then its up to you what embossing folders and dies you buy after that.

The basic option at cuttingedge does contain everything you need to get started. Maybe when I said 'nothing' that was a bit misleading, I meant no extras.

Is why I asked about the cutting plates cos I noticed that the C&C offer includes them as well...

With club discount & free p&p, the C&C price isn't too horrific...but I'll say it again - I have enough things to entice me ATM without getting into die cutting LOL

When we were at the Cheshire Oakes last Friday & I was having a nosey round the Papermill shop, hubby noticed the Cricut Create - & then he noticed the price of the cartridges too... Suffice it to say, I'd have a very hard time justifying any purchase like that LOL

Had a look at your links again Jeanette and I'm with you now.

I guess it depends if you want the dies that are included in that kit (they're certainly not my cup of tea) and you'd still want the extra big cutting plates. Yes, it would still be cheaper than C&C/IW, but then again I'm sure there are plenty of places where the C&C/IW price is a good deal cheaper. For Graham to call the C&C/IW price a ripoff is incorrect imho.

I've had a look around and it seems to me that the C&C price ok with the 10% discount, free P&P and cutting pads. The XL cutting pad are sold at £14 on some sites, whilst the machine itself is averaging about £65. Also the XL pads seem to be out of stock in lots of places.

As Anne says there are some good deals if you want dies as well.

What has happened to the Big Kick?
