I've purchased some plain grungeboard, and hitch fasteners, and am itching to make myself some watch straps 'a la Sheena' The only thing is, I don't know what paints to use. I want to end up with the same fab results Sheena has on her blog, ie quite happy to buy the real products used
Can anyone help?

I think i can help:-)
The samples on the blog were painted using the cosmic shimmer sparkle paints which you can find on the website. The ones for I used to base coat were the 'angel' colours. They look white in the jars, but are packed with interference micas showing blue, green, red etc. The stronger colours were painted using the same paint range.
You can also use polished pigments or cs micas if you mix them with crystal lacquer first.
Good luck - let me know how you get on. If you need any more info, contact me via the web mail and I'll do what I can.

Sheena, can you use the CS watercolour cakes? I have virtually every colour they released and don't really want to start on another branch of the same range if these will do as good a job.
I also have adirondack's acrylics and wonder if they would also work?

You surely can!
Just remember to mix your watercolours so that they're thick and gloopy, then mix them into the small drop of crystal lacquer on your pallette. Should work fine and dandy with the acrylics too.
Basically the crystal lacquer becomes like a water resistant binder when mixed with any other water soluble paint.
Have fun!

Thanks Sheena.
How lucky we are to have our own crafting Guru on hand to help us out when we need it.
I have one or two christmas cards to finish, yes I know shame on me, lol, and then I intend to have a good play.
