I have checked my online statement today and discovered that I have been charged twice for the same item. At £26.99, it isn't pennies they've taken!
I obviously spent the obligatory 10mins waiting to get through to India to be told they cannot tell from their computer that this has happened. Now I have to send them a copy of my bank statement to prove it has happened.
GGGRRRHHHH!!:mad::mad::mad:

Don't phone India - someone else advised me to phone the switchboard number (0870 0777002) and ask to speak to someone about a complaint. Be persistent, don't let them fob you off - you may have to phone more than once). Tell them, too, that you will pass the matter to your credit card company - this was what finally made them take me seriously, because they DO have procedures to deal with this. I had to go through all this, but did eventually get a resolution. Good luck.

Ouch Gill, that's dreadful that they are making you do the work to prove they messed up. They should be able to see from their own records what payments they have charged against your account.

That's what I thought Phree, but apparently not!
I just want anybody that bought somethingfrom the Craft repeatathon to check what they've been charged.

Gill - I wouldn't send them a copy of your bank or card statement - what else is on there is none of their business!

I would do what Chess suggests, or just get straight onto your credit card provider.

Thanks Gill, I did think about whether it was wise to send them a copy of my statement but I have blocked out anything which I felt was too informative...it's gone in the post today. I shall give them a week then do as Chess says and call the switchboard and ask for the complaints department.
I paid by debit card and I know my bank (also based in India, phones manned probably by the same people as IW) would not want to know, their customer service is just as bad.

Hi Gill
This happened to me once (not with Ideal World though) I thought it was a bit of a cheek too but I think they are allowed to get the information this way and can insist. Can't remember how I found out now:rolleyes:. Anyway I just left the relevant bits showing, blanked everything else out and I mean everything except my name and address and the entry showing the payment.

Hope it works out well for you.

Same thing happened to me, took ages to sort out. I would not mind but they sent out the goods twice, I told them what they had done, they took off the charges, I honestly returned one set and they refunded the second set, whereupon I gave up. Honesty maybe the best policy but they do have to listen for it to work.

Thank you everyone for your advice and kind thoughts. It does make me very wary of C&C and I will hope they don't take ages to sort it out. Hope no one else suffers the same problem with them.

That's perfectly acceptable - they don't need to see anything that has nothing to do with them...
