what do we think of it i acutally quite like it
It's the best Marsden kit that I've seen and the only one I've ever thought of buying (although I'm waiting until I see what QVC has to offer). I would like to make the following points (in no particular order :D)
1. I wish that they would put the contents onto boards a la Dawn B - very hard to follow what's in the kit with Steph randomly opening bags and tipping out the contents
2. Since when has a punched out foil card star shape become a brad, it's not a brad, it's card confetti
3. I notice that unlike the other day, there has been no explicit statement that this kit will not appear in a future extravaganza - I guess "Watch this space" is the correct response to that
4. I do like the laser cut and metallic shapes - v nice!

I would buy this, except I am on a IW/C&C boycott at the moment due to a dispute on a missing item which they are (not) dealing with in IW's usual appalling customer service approach. They are claiming the item must have gone missing in transit (despite the fact that the packet which should have contained two items was clearly only big enough for one). This is my second boycott... you think I would have learned the first time round. Yes, it's lovely folks, but please only buy if you are prepared to deal with the consequences if something goes wrong.
Just watching the 10am show and noticed that the embellishments have been stuck on a board, anyone would think that CAC read our threads ;) :D
Sorry to hear of your problems, Spendsloads.

I was watching the launch show last night & I thought it was all rather very lovely, but just far too big for just little ole me! Plus hubby was downstairs playing on the laptop & therefore knows full well how much it costs LOL
He laughed when he heard me get fed up after the first hour of Steph frantically selling the kit by tipping it all out - I just yelled "Oh shut up Steph" at the TV (when the list of contents came on again) he laughed & told me I was vey funny when I was watching crafting - I said she was going to the Manchester SCCS on Saturday & I could have booked in a workshop with her if I'd wanted to which he asked if I was going to get a T-Shirt made up with "Shut Up Steph!" :D
I was waiting for some demos but the kit is so big Malcolm just stood there like a spare part

I'm sitting on my hands trying not to order this kit. I only want the die cuts and some of the cards so to stop myself I ordered the pearl foiled card (snowflake one) and the glitter and foiled card and paper. I'll see if I can find the die cuts somewhere else.

I really love the metal embellishments in the kit. Shame there's not an upsell on them, there seems to be just about every other upsell you could think off.

OMG this is a first for me, but I much prefer this to the QVC one
Not buying though, I only really want the metal embellies and the card stock.

Speaks volumes for how poor the QVC one is, doesn't it Julie? I think that alot of folks feel the same, I think that CAC POD sales hiked up considerably this morning once folks had seen the QVC offering.
If our little site is any indicator of things generally, then CAC will have achieved a resounding victory against QVC in the great bank holiday craft showdown:D

I must hang my head in shame and admit I bought the CAC kit.... I know, after all I've said!
The QVC one is really nice but it's just not the style I enjoy making. TBH, neither is the CAC one but I send a lot of cards to my late MIL's friend to sell at church so I can see fairly quick cards being made and I think they look quite stylish (is that the right word?) I do like the simple gold/silver look.

I found it interesting that for the first time I have ever noticed, C&C today mentioned a number of the Marsden kits left. Somewhere between 1% and 2% they said there were about 100 kits left. If you count that as 1% (it was a wee while after the 2% was mentioned)that means they had about 10000 kits for a 4 day deal. If that reflects their expectations, they're not that high, are they? QVC's single day TSVs are always around 14000-15000

I think we should look at this from another perspective - and that is hours flogging one product on each channel - there is no comparison, whilst QVC were flogging all manner of other products, the TSV is shown only a handful of times; IW were not servicing their other customers (see ST.com for that). QVC doesn't rely on craft, it seems, as much as IW do - why should they when they have premium beauty brands and jewellery.
I am happy to see so much craft on TV, but will always watch a QVC craft show over a POTD or 4 day deal craft show, cos I know they will only spend 15 mins max on a TSV - not 2 hours! Plus I am sick of the ads for the C&C Club ("The C&C Club is changing for the better...blah blah")and now adverts for Gaviscon!
Finally I think the 4 Day Deal concept is just to encourage peeps to buy quickly - well I guess we all know that :).

I didn't buy either but preferred the CAC kit Also thought that again Cac won hands down on demos some of the cards produced were really lovely. Ove rthe last couple of months I have definately opted more for CAC, especially with free p@p Received my condolence card kit on Saturday and am very impressed with the quality It has made me rethink my attidute to die cut decoupage and although its not what I want all the time it was quite satsfying being able to produce several cards quickly (Just hope I dont need six condolence cards in the near future) Have a feeling I will be able to sell them very easily though as they look very tasteful when made up

Yes, I got mine last week as well & chucked a couple together. A lot of the badly die cut decoupage designs just don't do anything for me, but some of them work really well (the butterfly kit springs to mind here). And there is definitely something about not having to particularly concentrate to produce cards once in a while, even if you'd perhaps class them more as 'hand finished' rather than 'handmade'.
They really went for the big upsells this time didn't they? Some of that cardstock was gorgeous, but just a teeny bit scary in price - presumably reflecting the production costs involved?
I thought it was rather good of MM to agree to help Dennice flog some of her kits in the Extravaganza hour on Sunday night. Mind you, her & Malcolm had done very little in the preceeding 2hrs while Steph talked without drawing breath :D

I like the foiling on the cards of some of the die cut decoupage kits.I hate the white bits on the pieces though so I sit and cut all the white off lol .Its still quiker than starting from scratch

I got my POTD kit this weekend and it's gorgeous. I bought it because of the A5 cards and the metal embellies - they are fab - really beautiful. :)

I think so - I ordered it at the start of the 4 day thing and did some h*******k instead of going to the craft fair at Hulme Hall. I think I would have spent more than the £31.49 and not had as much stuff to play with.
It was the "definately not appearing in any future craft extravaganza" statement that tipped me over the edge - I lost it at that point and ordered the embossed white glittered card at the same time - that's nice too :)
