Still slightly over excited but when we were visiting the outlaws fil persuaded oh to do the long drive to Graphicus as an early birthday present.
WOW is all I can say, I easily managed to sneakily spend the £89 I had stashed in my craft purse (which was v lucky as oh was equally sneaky and didn't take me to the cashpoint first even though he knew I had barely any cash on me - little did he know :D )
Glenda was there after her stint a couple of days earlier on c&c and it was fantastic seeing all the stamps in one place.
I wandered around the place oohing and aahing like it was fireworks night and managed to come away with loads of bits - red shimmer Krylon pen, Tim Holtz distressables book, some memory glass bits, a glue ink pad (iykwim), loads of Bazzill bling, some gorgeous Dove of the East Indian papers that I've been lusting after on qvc for ages and the Butterfly and Filigree cds for £9.99 each.
Then I was in for more treats over the fortnight as we went to Durham for the day and got some bits from the stall in the indoor market including a copy of Making Cards which had an ad for Dainty Supplies in Washington with a 10% discount. So I got taken there too. Trust me, this is unheard of!
Was quite good there and just got some friendly plastic, some Egyptian Kanban bits and 43 sheets of Kanban seconds as they were only 25p each!
I really missed the site though, it's so great to have fellow crafters who understand the joy of bargain Kanban and discussing the latest tsv, OH just laughs

I can catagorically state that I won't be using the Indian papers for some time, they are so beautiful that I want to hang them on my wall!

Most Excellent Diana - sounds like you've had quite a haul there, you lucky girl. BTW, I LOVE the idea of a craft purse - sadly I think mine would be permanently empty!

Well done you! I can only imagine the delights that can be found at Graphicus. As for Durham Indoor Market my hubby and I go to Durham at least once a year and always say no matter what you want you can find it in Durham Indoor Market. My Brother once wanted pumpkin buttons for a Hallowe'en outfit I was making him and after searching everywhere I found them in the market.

I was just smiling to myself as I read this,in my imagination I was there too and you can just `feel it` can`t you?I live not too far from Harrogate and go to the Craft shows there.Last September my friend was going abroad shortly after the Sept fair. She said she was more excited about the craft fair than her holiday - but not to tell her OH.I also live very close to Kanban but have never been.Hopefully that will change on the first Sat in September.

Just in case any one is now feeling inspired by this thread to make a long delayed trip to Graphicus...... then I would suggest next Friday or Saturday (5th & 6th Sept) as they have open days with demos and lots of fab offers. I know someone will be demoing the Cuttlebug and ideas for card making with it and of course Glenda will be there too ;)

Oh I know it's not easy distance for many of us Jeanette, but for some folks if they are not too far away the open day may make it worth travelling a little further than they perhaps normally would to visit a craft shop.

I would definitely go if it were a little closer. 300 miles is just a tad too far

I have to confess Welly that OH didn't see the haul as I carefully made sure I was only carrying 3 things when he walked in and picked up another as he walked round with me. As soon as he was out the door I zoomed round picking up all the bits I knew I NEEDED.
Cue an anxious couple of minutes while I paid, thinking that he would walk back in and catch me mid-spree. No wonder they call us crafty
Forgot to mention that I also got a pack of Cosmo Cricket Fleuriste papers in there too (I really did have too much to remember! :D  ), they are GORGEOUS!!!!
