As Glenda has such a fun competition to win her new stamps I thought it may help if people know the following
These instructions relate to blogs hosted on "Blogger" but it's pretty similar for other hosts such as Wordpress, etc.
You don't have to have a blog of your own to leave a comment on someones blog.... so if you track down the blogs where the new stamps are hidden this is what you do :
First underneath the blog owner's post you wil see the word "comments" or for example "5 comments" - the number 5 in this case refers to how many comments have already been made by others - so that number can vary.
Click on the "Comments" link and the comment dialogue box will open.
Type in your comment then you can choose if you want to use an exisiting google identity to post under (you have one of these if you have a google e-mail address) or use Open ID (AIM, Wordpress, Typepad etc) or you can simply leave your name, or finally even choose the "annonymous" option, tho for a competition I would suggest you leave a name, your forum nicname would do if you don't want to leave a real world name.
Finally you *may* need to complete a word verifiation box, this is to prevent automated scripts from spamming blogs. It's one of those boxes were you must copy the words and numbers from the box into a text entry field below it. These are also known as "captchas".
Finally hit submit to send yoru comment. You will then get a short message at the top of the blog comments window that tells you your comment has been saved, read this because it may also tell you that comment moderation has been turned on by the blog owner and your comment will not be visible until after the owner has approved it.
Hope this helps and if you decide to have a go at Glenda's Blog Treasure Hunt, good luck tracking down those 3 mystery blogs :D
