Has anyone else had problem with pinflair glue hardening in the tube?
I bought some a few months ago and have refilled the syringe 3 times I always wind the tube down and screw the top on tight after use also keep the tube in a zip lock bag However when I went to refill the syringe this evening theglue had solidified in the neck of the tube it actually was hard right back into the shoulder so there was no way I could pull the hardened bit out. Infact when I tried to put some pressure on the key to try and force it out the side of the tube split My kitchen work top ended up covered in glue and boy is it a b*****r to get off.
They make such a big thing of the fact it doesn't go off in the tube and I had kept it as airtight as possible so am realy disapointed.
the only plus side is I ended up making 20 decoupage cards to use up the split tube

That's disappointing to hear, sugarplum, especially as you had taken such good care of the tube. I only bought this stuff because my silicon always went hard after it was opened. I have just checked my tube and it's also gone hard but with a bit of prodding with a cocktail stick I've managed to move the hard bit so I can get some glue out.
Maybe this stuff is only any good if you are using it every single day which I'm not.

I have sent an email to pinflair via their website asking for advice on how to stop this happening again I do like the glue and the fact it is odourless but don't think they should say it will keep in the tube for 2 years without going off unless that is the case

Oh dear sugarplum :( I get a little hard 'plug' which I've not a had a prob removing so far (& which I remember Christine mentioning at some point), but it's never got as far as the shoulder of the tube.

I'm wondering if they might get back to you to say it only keeps for 2yrs if the tube remains sealed - as in unused?

I hope pinflair have a good answer cos I much prefer it to silicone...But then I still mostly use foam pads for decoup :o

Good idea. Please let us know how you get on and how they recommend that you should keep the glue.

I was going to get some since silicone always goes hard for me and I thought this would be better for me but maybe not.

From the Pinflair site:

All purpose craft glue - cardmaking, decoupage, scrapbooking and many other types of crafts. Ideal for paper, polystyrene, plastic, glass, ceramics, mirrors, wood and various metals.

Pinflair Glue Gel is completely odourless, silicon free and dries crystal clear

So according to them, yes :)

I saw the Pinflair lady on a live Ideal World/C&C show in the last few days and I'm sure she said the glue is okay in the syringe for 8 weeks.

to be honest Anne I have never had a problem with the glue in the syringe Sometimes it would develop a bit of a rubber plug at the very end but this was easy enough to pull out and then the remaining glue was fine I have had a syringe filled for the 8 weeks and it was ok.

had the same problem with it going solid in the syringe which I hadn't used up. I had done what was suggested etc., but still it went hard.
