I posted this link a little while ago in a thread on paper engineering and making your own embellies. Over the Easter weekend i have had a play. They are really easy!
Anyway, i made this for my sister...it honestly was my first attempt. The centres are made with loops of wire dripped here and there with stickles. Given the price of Prima goodies now i reckon these are a steal, the organza was about 1.50 a packet t the Range, there's a guy on ebay who has it for 99p a meter plus p and p.
anyway here's my corsage, the link to the instructions is on the web page

Very pretty, love the colours Sheila.

When I tried this I ended up with a foul smell and black edged flowers. Didn't work for me sadly, but I can see the appeal if you can get it to work.
I must have been too heavy handed with the flame.

yes you just wave the organza in the heat..it stays about half an inch away from the flame...try it again, its only a knack thing

Lovely flowers Sheila, just a tip tho - I have know for ages I can make organza ribbon go sorta crinkly by blasting it with a heat embossing tool - so perhaps this may be a safter and more controllable way to crinkle your flowers than using a flame.

Lovely flowers - :mysmilie_488: I just need to get me some organza!
Nb After checking out the canon paper engineering site :mysmilie_487: and was suckered in by the Koala bear. My head told me I should not attempt this but as usual I ignored the sensible side of me and went for it. I could say more but to keep it short after 'several hours' the Koala was born! sort of! I used the wrong glue and he has glue marks on him (which I tried to disguise with a promarker and made things worse) and I realised when it was all too late that his legs turn outwards rather than inwards - I think I was too bleary eyed to realise I had put his left leg on his right hip. But even though he is far from perfect I have to keep him. so he is strategically placed in the corner of my desk so his imperfections can't be seen. We have bonded so he is staying lol:sweat:

... here's the little fella!
Sorry about rubbish quality photo (need to chuck the camera)
His feet/legs splay outwards instead of in, as i went wrong right at the end, really mad with myself.
Now i know in the real world a rose wouldn't grow out of an bare aussie tree, but in my craft world it does as it happend to be kicking around on my desk and I needed it to try and disguise the mistake.
Anyway it was my first attempt, and I did learn a few things
- don't try and make it all in one go
- don't use really wet glue and use a brush to avoid gluey finger prints everywhere
- don't try covering up with promarkers especially when you only have a few and don't have a colour match
Even with all his problems i still luurve him:mysmilie_48:
