I always use Memento ink with my Promarkers and never have any problems. I have also heard that you can use Impress ink but haven't tried it.

I only have a few stamps but I have some Memento ink & even I can colour in with Promarkers using that, so I guess that's the best thing for general use if even I can use it, as I'm pretty useless at almost everything! lol
I was wondering about other inks too though but before I rush off & buy loads, I thought I might get a few stamped images from eBay, as I have seen them for sale using StazOn & Archival ink? Thought that might be an idea to see how well they work colouring in wise?

Memento but let it dry a long time, which I also do with printed out images. Love the grey and dark blue memento inks *sigh*.

I use memento and Impress ink like the impress the best and colour straight away maybe thats down to the card I use.

I use Memento too with Promarkers. Sometimes I colour straight away, no problems.

I always stamp straight away with Memento too and have never had a problem with it. I got a complete set of the small dew drop shape pads for £29.95 from Inkylicious. I've also seen them on ebay for that price.

It might help if you give the stamped image a blast with heat gun, I'm sure I did that and nothing ran.

Stazon is alcohol based and so are promarkers, which is why they don't go together. As everyone else says memento is very good. But it is also important to consider the paper you are using, even if you use memento and find your promarkers bleeding, it could be the paper that is bleeding through your ink, so make sure you use an appropriate paper or card.

I use Ranger Archival, Momento, Versafine and Stazon. These are all recommended and used (just do some blog hopping) The key seems to be the cardstock or paper used. My favourite to use is Elzybells white cardstock http://www.elzybells.co.uk/showdetails.asp?id=734
The card needs to be very smooth but not glossy. I can also get a pretty good one from my local shop. This one I will stamp ahead of colouring as will I do with the Create and Craft Everyday Card which I pick up from Wilkinsons.
I've never found any advantage to heat setting. I can only think that the advice given by DB regarding not to use Stazon is erring on the side of caution.
I have not used it myself but Whispers from Stampin' Up is also widely recommended
I'm not a recent convert to Promarkers, I have been using them for many years and I'm offering this from my experience and I didn't get to this point without some trial and error.

I've just started playing wiht my copics and so far found that versafine is ok if you leave it to dry a while (or probably if you blast it dry with a heat gun).
So far as I know Staz-on is solvent based (I don't know if that solvent is alcohol but it doesn't smell like alcohol) and I also believe that Brillance should work - maybe if you give it a good blast to dry it.
I plan to play some more today but thanks for asking the question as I'm in exactly the same situation.

I use memento with Promarkers. Don't often leave the image to dry before colouring. I've got the full set of dewdrop Memento too. Will gradually work out which ones I want as full size ink pads.
The advantage with the dewdrops is that they are easy to print over part of a stamp so, as long as you work quickly you can get a multicolour stamping!

Just a quick note Julie, you seem to have the right info now regarding the inks, but i used my promarkers on the card the Barbara sells and they left streaky marks, now it could just have been me cause i know barbara uses promarkers on that card but the only time i saw her demonstrate she went on to smudge in what she had coloured, does that make any sense at all?

Does to me cos I have tried it, and I was not keen on the results. Think they work better on card that is a little bit absorbent, so it doesn't 'sit' on top.

Spot on ladies that was that cardstock I was using !!!
Watched Barbaras show today and she seemed to use the Adirondack then coloured in with a pale promarker with no probs, ahhhhhhhhhhhh just had a thought she was using copier paper at the time.
I resorted to my Tom Bows in the end and got a lovely result, maybe promarkers aren't so good on that silky coated cardstock.
