I'm in the clear I reckon (just!), as I bought <s>a load of stuff</s> a few bits & bobs on the 29th/30th May, so not technically June purchases..........(unless you count date of delivery!).......?

I made all my confessions last month, err yesterday. Although of course none of them will arrive until June, but they were definitely paid for in May.

Good job my Craft Stamper only arrived this am or I might have been tempted with even more things in the No pnp bank holiday weekend frenzy.

OK, I feel guilty now Millburn's 'fessed up - OK, I got:

x10 Promarkers
A (small!) inkpad
Several papers
x3 lots Prima Pearls & Crystals
A rubber stamp
A set of Inkadinkado stamps
Anna Griffin scrapbook kit

one of the shapeabilites pendant gizmos and a couple of magnetic mats. One of the other pendant sets is out of stock everywhere just now so I will have to wait for that one. Brain isn't working so I can't remember what I have ordered or which one I want to order!

Oh and, no strictly crafting but I spent oodles of lovely dosh over the holiday weekend in the garden centre. Including 6 new fish for my pond. Ghost carp, very tiny ones!

an essential purchase over the weekend. Ez mount for the rubber stamps that are no longer on wood. Also decided to go for some of her storage files as I have some already so it made sense to keep the same system.

Need a bit of cheering up today though so will be ordering a Smiley Bears CDrom from Cherry Picking Well I have got to face the horrors of having my boiler replaced. Workman will be here three days, due to arrive any time now. OMG!!!!!!!

budgie

I had to have my boiler replaced a few years ago. It wasn't as bad as I expected, and didn't take as long as they had said originally. Relieved when it was over though as hate having workmen in my house. Hope it goes quickly for you craftycat.

Well I did say I wasnt buying anything from them again apart from to spend my £10 credit after jukeboxgate but Ive had an email today from create and craft with new tv schedule and I noticed at top that gypsy was £255 for members so I succumbed and ordered it cos its on flexipay as well. But did I use my £10 credit towards it - No buddy brain freeze or blonde moment, not sure which. That means I still have it to spend.

Didnt get a cinch as I have a Bind It All which doesnt get the use it should but I was tempted with my easy pay code lol.

lord forgive me for i have sinned - today i ordered the cup cake martha punches (and it was a good job the xmas set isn't in stock yet as I'd be doubly tempted) thus ending my virtuous behaviour for the month! Amen! I missed out on the butterfly set as the tsv so I don't feel too guilty

LoobyLou
09-06-2010, 10:20 PM
Lord forgive me too. I must have caught blarfitus, cos I ordered the self same punches.

I hope they work better than the set I bought from Oyster stamps though. I ordered the layered arches and when they came whipped them straight round a 12" scrapbook page, and they didn't punch cleanly, not raggedy you understand, just not making a proper square; certain of the repeats had long thin lines of paper where the repeats just don't match up. So I tried on smaller paper in case the 12" was out of true, same result. So I stapled two pieces of paper together and cut them to 5" square. I then carefully seperated the now identical sized pieces of paper and used my PAP punches from the MS TSV, which work perfectly, to punch one sheet. Result perfectly matched and the other sheet I used the layered arches.......... same annoying bit of paper appearing between each repeat. So I phoned them and at my own expense had to send them back.

Today I get a phone call admonishing me for using such thin paper..... despite the fact that I had mentioned in my covering letter than the paper was very thin and not what I would usually use but I had it to hand when I wanted to do this experiment, and telling me that they had 'an expert' in the shop today and she could see at a glance that the paper I sent them (the faulty one and the perfectly punched one) were not 5" square!!!!! So no wonder I had problems. They had gotten a non crafter to cut a piece to 5" square and he had no problems at all and punched a square out perfectly.

I told her she better parcel him up and send him off with the punches then cos clearly I was way too stupid to be a crafter and when I needed something too difficult for me to do like punching I could wheel out the non crafter who could make me look a bigger fool than I did already!

What really gets me, I didn't want a refund, just a set of punches that worked and does she really think I would spend the best part of £3 to send back perfectly working punches just for the hell of it? Not only that, but after I put the phone down it came to me, of course the bloody squares didn't look 5", they had been punched and had all their edges removed, thus shrinking them! This expert of theirs clearly has the ability of second sight and can see what it would have looked like and with a blink of her eye can see the EXACT size the paper would have been before I punched it and clearly it wasn't 5 inches.

Moral of the story ladies (long story sorry). DON'T BUY from Oyster Stamps if there is any danger you might need to return something because they won't be having it!

In the future I shall avoid MS punches unless I am getting them from QVC who I know will take them back and not talk to me like the dunce in the corner, if I get a problem.

I agree. DH and I have a policy of only spending money in places where its a pleasure...so nice clean shops, friendly staff, excellent websites, great CS including intelligent intelligible call centres, friendly cheerful contractors. We still look for (and find) bargain prices but that's not our priority....result is more happiness, less stress

I really shouldn't venture in here as I'm just too naughty. I've bought quite a bit of stuff including the Cinch and various bits to go with that, a set of Martha Stewart PATP in pansies, 2 Flippin women stamps which were half-price, some Hanglar and Stanglar stamps and from QVC some bright stickles and a set of Anna Griffin background stamps which look interesting. Oh well beans are very nourishing!

Ok spending continues - I now have two more Cricut Cartridges to add to my collection and the list of June spends but as I got Mickey and Friends and Hello Kitty Greetings from e bay for £50 for the two and one of them is new (neither of them linked to a gypsy) they were too good a bargain to miss, especially as they are the two cartridges my daughter Naomi wanted me to get for her to use.
