I've also recently bought a canon MP640 printer and its fab, prints on all thicknesses of card acetate etc very pleased with it. However when using MCS Pro I've noticed that when I go to print preview all the artwork is in the wrong place like chopped in half and I end up moving all the images around over and over in order to get what I want on the A4 sheet. The A4 grid on the Pro doesn't appear to be matching up with the A4 box when I go to print preview. Any ideas anyone? Is it the Pro up to its old tricks or the settings on my printer not right? I've tried the fit to page and borderless settings on the printer but all seem the same and the latest problem was filling an A4 sheet on the Pro with just a background sheet but again on preview it would only print out a large rectangle of the design instead of the whole sheet. Tried the old MCS version but the grid on that doesn't appear to correspond either. You guys have always managed to solve just about all my other teccie problems putting all these pc experts out there to shame, so hopefully this is something that I'm doing wrong!! Thanks peeps

Was the Pro working ok prior to you getting the printer?

I know that there are some printers which MCS say are "incompatible" with the Pro software, I have a Canon MP160 and it's ok, so would have thought other Canon's would be as well. I try to make sure that the printer is set up to the same size and orientation as the workspace on the Pro. If that doesn't work you could try setting up a "ghost" printer.

A "ghost" printer is a virtual printer which creates .pdf files of your work - the type of file that Joanna Sheene and others use on their CDs. You can download a free .pdf creator, I use Primo which sits in your printer folder, you set it as your default when using Pro. I also use it for sending attachments to friends who don't have the same software as me and can't open the files otherwise: http://download.cnet.com/PrimoPDF/3000-18497_4-10264577.html?part=dl-10264577&subj=dl&tag=button

It's easy enough to print off the .pdf document on your canon printer from there.

You should also contact Paul or Katie at MCS Support 0800 954 0070 and let them know of the problems you have been experiencing.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Karriepie, I had exactly the same problem with my MCS Pro, until I realised there was a scroll bar on the right hand side which I hadn't noticed! Now, when I drag & drop I just scroll to the top of the page and have no more probs printing an A4 sheet. Don't know if this is what's happening to you, but thought I'd mention it.

I forgot that the default view did't show the top of the page! If you reduce the view to 50% using the slider at the bottom right hand corner of the screen, it allows you a better general view for checking the placement of your work.

Yes I too thought that may have been the problem as I discovered the very same thing a few days ago. But even reducing the page to 25% to see the whole thing clearly, still makes no difference! Soon as I go to preview I'm only seeing part of the artwork and not as I have placed it. It just will not print me out a full A4 background paper which wasn't a problem with the original MCS. I've kept my old epson printer so I'm going to test out both MCS versions using both printers and see what happens. Nothing is ever straight forward is it? Thanks for advice tho

Karrie, Paul phoned me earlier today to discuss some of the problems I've been having. I mentioned to him that you've had some issues with yours and read out your post to him. He thinks he knows what the problem is and asked me to ask you to contact him on 0800 954 0070 and he'll advise you.
