This is a memory book I made for my daughter to give to her friend who is leaving our area as soon as she has completed her GCSEs. She has filled it with photos and mementos of all their group of friends which is lovely. I was only too pleased to make it for her but asking me at 8.30 pm Friday night and needing it for today was stretching it. :whew:

Thank you for looking. x

Icebubble, it's beautiful. I am sure she will treasure it. Cinched again I take it. See how useful was that little piece of equipment already.

Thanks for the kind comments Looby. Yes the Cinch is a great little thing and I think I'll get a lot of use from it. I'm really enjoying making something different than a card for a change. If my DD had given me a bit more notice I would have done something with stamping etc but last night she was talking about buying an album and I couldn't have that so had to make something quickly for her.

That is charming, a lovely gift. Hope you had fun making it even under pressure.

This is lovely - what a great gift. Can I ask what the cover is made from - is it chipboard? Cxx

Was going to ask the same question.

You are obviously on a roll icebubble! To create something like this under pressure is enviable! I am inspired to get my BIA out again.

As an afterthought, seeing the work of others and being able to ask questions about it is one of the great strengths of this forum.

That's lovely Icebubble & don't you just love teenagers......although their touching faith that you'll actually be able to do said task in the time allowed is still kinda sweet I always think! lol
Glad you're enjoying playing with your Cinch, you must be the 'forum expert' on it by now IB!

Yes I used a chipboard cover but am now furiously collecting all packaging with card that I can lay my hands on! I think the ready made covers you can buy are lovely but could prove expensive for me in the long run especially as you can't see them once covered with card or paper. So I've decided that the word corn flakes on the front really won't matter. :giggle:

Thanks to everyone for the lovely comments. I tried to multi-quote but for some reason it won't work.

I fully agree with you this forum has taught me so much and I can't wait to see what things others make with either the Cinch or BIA.

Yes Kitten teenagers are something else! I have three and between them they manage to make my head spin most of the time but like you I love that they ask me for help and want things that I make. I'm my own worst enemy in that once they have asked me for something I will try and get it done and would feel guilty if I couldn't.

Lol I'm a total novice to making books but am just so chuffed that I am able to make these and be happy with how they turn out. I still firmly maintain if I can do it then anyone can. x

That's so lovely IB, and how clever to be able to produce it at such short notice. Has your daughter decorated the inside?

Hi 3BC,

Firstly lovely to see you on the forum I've missed chatting to you. xxx

Yes she has put in pictures of their group of friends etc and left some blank pages for Heidi to fill. They had a party yesterday with her and took more pictures which can be added.

That's gorgeous IB!! :clapping: Pink and black are always a winning combo in my book and I like the font you used for her name. Are the swirls Prima Say It in Crystals? I've been coveting some of them for ages... I bet she was delighted with it, lovely idea for a gift. Must be tough for her moving away at that age as, although our friends are always really important to us throughout our lives, I think it's particularly true of that age group, before they've got their own families etc. You knew you'd use it for your daughters and their friends but doubt you realised quite how quickly your services would be required!! xx

Lovely book. Its good that a piece of equipment gets used instead of being lovingly looked at.

Yes they are Prima Say It In Crystals and it hurt to use them I can tell you as I like to look at them but I needed quick decoration so used those. No I didn't realise I would be taking orders from everyone quite so quickly. I've now been asked by my Husband to make a book with dogs for a lady who is retiring so that all her colleagues can put messages in it so I got him to buy me the new Joanna Sheen cd and a stamp to use.

It is great I agree  and all sorts of ideas come to mind. I can't wait to see what you make Juliet. I'm looking forward to all the inspiration and tips from everyone. :clapping:

With the cds I thought you could use the notelets etc from the stationery sets for the pages and they are then fully decorated for people to write comments on. I'm also interested in a scoring tool that I saw from WRMKs to make shopping list books that you can then discard the page by tearing off at the perforations when finished with it.

Beautiful book IB, and well done you for creating something for your daughter in such a short span of time. I am sure I could never have made it so fast. I bet her freind will love the book and being able to look at it when she thinks of your daughter.
