I currently only own the big scalloped squares, I'm wondering about mega large ovals, or the labels (all of them) but rather keen on labels 12 - let me know your thoughts please :sun:

Also does the Spellbinder magnetic spacer plate work in the Cuttlebug?

I started with the circles and squares - plain and scalloped - and absolutely love the matting and layering you can do - and you can also give a whole different look to toppers!! I've now gone for the ovals and rectangles - and have to admit I have the new lacey circles and squares, and the beaded ovals on pre-order. The labels are one's I can't make my mind up about. Some are too fancy shapes for what I would use but others are growing on me. Just have to wait for my bank balance to recover from this last little lot first - could be quite a wait!!! Cxx

I think I use the petite scallop ovals more than anything else. I think its necessary to collect all of them though ROC!!!!

i agree with what has been said, the basic circles, ovals and sqares followed by the scallops to match are most useful for matting and layering and I have found the rectangles very useful too. However, you have to be very strong minded to avoid the "pretty" ones!

I tend to use the Scallped circles and ovals most, along with their matching plain ones.

I bought mine from Ebay The seller is jingle...bells
Sorry don't know how to post a link.

She sells some of the dies in sets of 4 for £52 ( ie the four Oval dies together) If you are thinking of buying several sets, well worth a look. When I have ordered the items have arrived the next day.

The single packs are very reasonable too.

I am not associated with this seller just a very happy customer.

You should buy ALL OF THEM of course

Seriously, from a sellers point of view we sell more Classic and Scalloped Circles and Ovals than anything else, with large being more popular than small. The fancy shapes seem to come and go in popularity although Large Deckled Rectangles is always a popular choice and the Mega Curved Rectangles always sell as well. The four set sets are good value: http://www.countryviewcrafts.co.uk/nestabilities-sets---great-savings-136-c.asp

I got the circles and squares (large) plain and scalloped first. Still haven't got a rectangle or ovals as I can't decide on which rectangle and most of my cards are square so ovals don't really work so well.
As for labels, I remain to be convinced too - I have labels 1 and 8 which are as frilly as I can go (but I like the newest set - is it 16?)
Nesties are SOOOO addictive!

I think the circles and ovals are always a must, (after all squares and rectangles (non scalloped) can be cut with a guillotine). I also have the hearts both scalloped and non scalloped, but really only find I use these at valentines. I love the labels, but more so because some of my stamps are quite big, and the squares and circles are too small for the stamped images). Some of the labels really are very big and give a great area to stamp onto. I also have the paisley but have only used that one once. I have about 4 or 5 label sets I still want), I still find i use the nesties rather than my cricut for those, even though the cricut can do them all, just because its so quick and easy to do them. I tend to buy a set when i have a particular stamp that i want to use them with, rather than buying them thinking I might use them. (The fancy frames I brought I have never used, as they dont layer like the nesties).

Most useful set is always the one you want next!

So far I've got the plain ovals and circles. Scallops ovals and circles next probably

Pretty as the lable shapes are, I think the basic geometric shapes of Ovals, Rectangles, Square and Circles are the most most useful, but with one drawback, you really do kind of need to purchase them in pairs - the smooth edge set with the co-ordinating scalloped set.

One other point I would make - I listed Ovals, Rectangles and Squares first for a reason - they are more versatile than Circles because you can change the look by rotating the shape - Portrait vs Landscape, or in the case of the square turn it to stand on a corner giving a sorta diamond shape. Circles are just circles no matter which way you turn them;)

I haven't got any yet, but was thinking along the lines of englishminx - the 'round' shapes should maybe be first on the list as you can indeed make squares & rectangles without really thinking about it.

Now here's another question - does anyone know if there are square/rectangle nesties available which are plain (ie, straight sides) with rounded corners? I've had a little nosey about but hadn't spotted any. I know you can obviously just cut a square & used a punch &/or fiskars scissors, but nested shapes would be much easier - particularly for frames/nicely ratio'd mats - & more fun!

Looking forward to seeing your scallop edged Rectangles and Squares with perfectly proportioned scalloped corners Welly :p LOL - you are right tho about the smooth edge straight sided shapes - they can be cut by hand to what ever size you need so I guess if someone wants those shapes they could settle for buying only the scalloped nesties and cut their own smooth edges shapes to mat onto the scalloped ones.

:mysmilie_849: That's what I meant LOL - just the straight ones, I was kinda classing the scallops as rounded. I could only get one set at a time, so it's prob the 'straight' shapes for me first which can be used for all cards. Don't know if it's just me, but in my head I always think of scallops as a softer, more feminine & 'pretty' effect...

As far as I know there are no straight edge, rounded corner squares or rectangles but a round it all or corner chomper soon sorts that out

The first ones I got were the plain and scalloped circles and squares, which I bought at a craft fair where they had a 4 sets for £60 offer. But the ones I use most are the mega nestibilities curved rectangles. I've just been on Rich's site and seen all the new dies and nesties coming out at the end of the month. Far too lovely!

I want to get a couple of sets of Nesties and need some advice. I currently have the classic scalloped squares, labels 1, labels 11, and labels 8. I tend to use labels 8 the most because they are larger. I also have some of the Nellie Multi-Frames but find them quite limiting because of their size. I am thinking of getting either labels 10 and the mega curved rectangles which are quite big I think or the large classic scalloped circles and the large circles to go with them so I can mat and layer. I can't decide! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry, just to add that if I get both the circle sets, large scalloped and large regular, there will only be 1/4 inch increment in the matting and layering. Is this enough to give a good mat and layered look? I've seen some examples of cards when the scallops look very narrow and are barely visible, this is not a look I want on my cards! Thank you for any comments/help.

Hi Rachel, it's a bit difficult for me to offer personal advice as I can just use whatever I want...then hide from Susan :giggle:...but judging from what our customers buy, the mega curved rectangles and classic & scalloped large circles are always very popular so I can't see you going too far wrong with these.

Of the more fancy dies, Labels Four is also very popular, as is Blossom, perhaps becasue these are more "simple" fancy dies and therefore lend themselves to more applications.

Thank you CraftyRich, you've held me make my mind up! I've decided to settle on the large classic and scalloped circles as I can see me using these a lot. Maybe next month, I'll go for Labels 10 and Labels 4 if I can afford it!

I have just sat & cross-referenced all the various Nesties to compare sizes for about two hours (& now my head hurts! lol) & think I have decided on those I like best! (So difficult to pick which ones to go for to start with when you haven't got any! lol)
I think I'm going to get 3 sets of the labels to start with, as I have bought a few of those from eBay for stamping on (well, practising stamping on! lol) & I really like them! Then I'd like a couple (or three!) of the new ones when they arrive in August!
So hard to choose though.......!

I have some die cuts I bought that don't seem to correspond to any of either the Nesties sizes or Nellie Snellen die sizes - it is a scalloped oval, 3 1/2" x 5", does anyone know what it might be as I quite like it?
(It's too long to be a Nestie classic oval & too wide to be a Nestie mega oval IYSWIM?)

That would be the petite scalloped ovals, my favourites. The petite refers to the size of the scallop not the size of the die

Ooh, thank you so much Jeanette, now I know! lol
Might have to get a couple of sets of those then, as I definitely like them the best!

Well I've just gone and bought the Labels 10 set today simply because I wanted an oval shaped nestie, but wanted some that I could use for larger stamped images. I bought them from CraftyRich and they're on their way already. Thank you!

Just got the Label 10 and I highly recommend them. They don't need matting and layering, and are a really good size.

Been to our local crafty place today and they had Nesties at 2 for £28. Unfortunatly they had 4 that I had been looking at on the net. Well it would have been rude to not buy them wouldn't it.

I got the scalloped rectangles with the matching plain rectangles, and the Scalloped and plain octogon. What makes it even better is that for every £10 you spend you get a stamp on your card and when you have ten stamps you get £5 off your purchases.
