I believe I can use the Sizzix Bigz dies in the CB by effectively replacing the A plate with the die itself & using the following sandwich (from bottom up):

B plate
Bigz die
Card
B plate

However, I presume this also means I can't cut anything thicker than cardstock though as I have nothing left to 'replace' to allow for the thickness of chipboard etc., IYSWIM?

Sooooooo, I would just have to be in love with the die & accept I can only use it for card......which effectively defeats the purpose of having a BigZ die in the first place, apart from maybe if I couldn't get that particular design in any other form, right......?

i think it depends on how thick the chipboard is. all you can do is expierment (sp). hope that helps.

I did just (quite suddenly! lol) think that myself actually, thought I could probably squish a piece of thin leather through for example.......?

I dunno, Phree & Vampy both seemed to be of the opinion I would not break the bloomin' CB........I'm not so sure about that......! lol

Luckily, I have seen another die not unlike the BigZ one, so maybe I'll play it safe & go for that instead!

I'm guessing you can't just plonk the die down as a base & dump one of the B plates alogether for thick materials then......? :confused2:

You can cut a BigZ die exactly as you said kitten, tho I tend to have the die cut side up with the card on top of the die. Chipboard should be doable, but if the 'bug is resisting the sandwich then I guess you need to proceed with caution and not force too hard to get the sandwich through. I have a couple of BigZ dies and don't so far have not tried to cut chipboard with them in my 'bug.
