Do you know if there is going to be a QVC Craft Event this year where customers are invited to go and meet the presenters and guests from QVC? Has anybody received an invite or news about it yet? There are usually posts by now about who's been invited! I know Dawn was saying that she may have to have an op on her tonsils so maybe they're not having it this year. I wait each year with bated breathe for my invite to come in the post...

I've not heard of anything. BTW DB is only having 1 tonsil out as she had the other one out when she was little

Never get invited to these things anyway, what do you have to do?

Having a tonsil adult as an adult is not a nice operation, I pity Dawn Bibby.
As for the craft event, I really can't see it, as it would be too expensive to put on IMHO.

Well, we spend far too much money with QVC so that should help qualify us, but I'd think you have to be an ardent fan of Dawn Bibby too. Now if it was Anna Griffin appearing, you'd have to fight me for a place

1. Spend ridicoulous amounts of money
2. Never send anything back
3. Be in a postcode close enough for there to be a reasonable chance that you may attend
4. Otherwise, know their DM Manager and make sure you're included in the selection

I think the cost is small beer to a Co the size of QVC, to be honest, Lorraine.

No chance of me getting one the as Scotland is way too far away for them to invite people. Which btw I think is very very wrong any and every QVC customer should have the same chance of being invited to one of these shindigs.

They do invite people from all over. I can remember some Northern Ireland members being invited to the beauty events over on ST.
I have been invited to two events (not craft), chose not to go to either so think I am defo off the list now.

I've never sent anything back :)
I think I qualify, I can see Batersea Power Station from my living room :)
NO!
Does that mean I have a 50/50 chance of going? Doubt it!
As Phree says, every craft customer should have the same chance of going to one of these events - not that I want to meet Dawn, but I'd go if I were invited.

I went a couple of years ago and had a great time...Don't spend ridiculous amounts but quite a bit, then again its no good inviting people who aren't keen crafters...and I guess the only way that they know how keen you are is how much moolah you spend with them.
I am certainly not somene who drools over Dawn...or any of the other presenters craft or otherwise...but met Dawn on the day she (and everyone else) was friendly and helpful on a very hot busy day.
People get invited from all over the UK but obviously its easier to go if you are near London. I would LOVE to go again, if you get an invite, go for it!

Been a QVc customer for 13 years and never been invited to anything. I mustn't spend enough. You'd think longevity and loyalty might play a part but they obviously don't care. (grump over :) )

Hiya,
First time posting but love this site.I`ve been invited to answer some questions as to why I`m not spending as much as I used to on QVC.Now where shall I start??
Hello jeanfan. Lovely to see you hear and keep posting! I'd think that honesty is the best policy with these things, otherwise they'll just keep on as they have been doing for years.
I suspect that C&C regular free p&p events must be having an effect. As has been pointed out on here on many an occassion, Craft seems to be just about the only category on QVC that never has free p&p even on like Anniversary shows or Craft Day.
What would you say your top five complaints were, Jeanfan?

;);)Top five.
Slow delivery.
Same old stuff.
No free postage and packing.
Boring craft `experts`who don`t make me want try their products/techniques.
Being rather behind the times.
Bragging about My shop,my this,my that (sorry that`s my pet hate!)
I love watching Leonie because she never has a bad word to say about any of the presenters handiwork and she does have some good ideas.

I got an invite for this year. Right at the bottom of the invite you are informed that you have to sign a disclaimer when you get there to allow yourself to be filmed and the footage used.
I'm sure I would have appreciated the invite a few years ago but lately have got a bit fed up with the way the craft hours are run and what I see as a hard sell, interesting products rushed through and the same old boring products shown, coupled with the fact that they want to use their customers for their own sales promotions, I decided not to go. I hope I made the right decision!

Sorry but you have to let QVC know If you & a guest are going a fortnight in advance of the day and have already said I was not going.

Oh no, if I had thought about it I would have offered it, but they said if we are not going, to reply and tell them so as to give someone else a chance to go so I thought I was doing a good turn. I must say you are making me feel like a miserable so and so now for not taking up the invite, oh well too late now, lol!

I wouldn't waste time feeling miserable ribbons, I would doubt if the invite is transferable. QVC will want to control who they invite to such an event and if you had passed it on secretly then the person would have had to pretend to be you.
If the craft events are anything like the beauty events, as long as you give the name of the person to whom the invite was originally sent, you will have no problem getting in. They just give you a form asking you to write down your name, address, phone no., and QVC membership no.

My point exactly Anne, anyone who was given the invite would presumably need to know the correct information.... name, address, phone no. and qvc membership. I would hope that QVC do double check on these as a matter of security for all attending such events.

Loads of peeps over on ST go as other people. Doubt QVC give a monkeys, as long as people aren't selling tickets !

No, I don't think they do Phree. You get given the form to fill in which you then hand to someone and then wander over to registration and just tell them your name, they tick you off the list and you're in. They don't seem to check the forms filled in at arrival with the check list at all.

I had both my tonsil's removed last Monday because one was absolutely huge and they gave me the option to have just that one out.
Last tuesday I regretted having both out though... ;)

I was invited to the Beauty event and I live in Leeds so I'm not sure that proximity is that important. But the cost of the train journey was enough to put me off.

Thanks, it is a lot better now, but still a quite sore. I was gutted when I was told that I wasn't supposed to eat ice cream, the doctor's now tell you to eat proper food as it helps them heal quicker.
Eating nothing but ice cream was the only bit I was looking forward to. I had bought loads of Haagen Dazs and Ben & Jerry's in advance too :(
Thank you both for the lovely welcome :)

All my boys had their tonsils out when they were tiny. DS1 was the oldest at 4, DS2 was 3 and DS3 was 1 1/2. Infact I had DS 2&3 in at the same time and I slept inbetween them on the ward. They made the oldest 2 have toast or rice krispies before they went home
Emma had her tonsils out last July and was made to eat a bowl of rice crispies before she went home. She did so very slowly and looking very sad. It still breaks my heart when I think of how much pain she was in those first few days after the op.
