I really enjoyed the first episode of this new series (every Tuesday 8pm Ch4), it's really the only craft programme on non-shopping channels, I wish there were more programmes like this. I would to like my own stained glass!:sun:

More crafts TV please!

I also like Kirsty cos she is a real woman and she speaks her mind!

Yes, I like her too, BUT wasn't too keen some of her views as expressed in YOU magazine a few weeks ago. Put your husband first, children second and career third. All very well when you have help but my husband and I both tend to put the children first, and then each other second. It works for us, and we still make enough time for each other. The kids will have left us in a few short years, so I'm making the most of them now!

Thanks for this thread ROC. I've been looking out for this show and couldn't find it. Have now set the Sky+ ready for next Tuesday.

I never saw that Victoria, odd view of the world she has I thought she was more career orientated!

She is career orientated, but she must have a great deal of help to be able to follow a career and raise children. I have no objections to that, but it doesn't happen like that for everybody. That's why I find myself devoting most of my time to my kids after work demands, rather than my OH! But I do spoil him sometimes!!!

I loved the show, I thought the stained glass panel they did was absolutely stunning. I like that it showcases different types of crafts and I love the idea of recycle and re-use. I thought it was great.

I enjoyed it too, I'm afraid it's usually my mother that comes first, then I don't have much energy for owt else lol, then it's the kids, dog, and last but not least hubby, we haven't even had our honeymoon yet!

I think the mistake we all make is sometimes not to put ourselves first!

I love Kirstie's programmes, think she is a posh bird with a twinkle in her eye.

agree with you Rentochops. In my case, husband came first, then the kids, then the parents on both sides who needed a great deal of care. At least I didn't do what one vicar suggested "Put God first, then the church and everything else in your life will be sorted" Expletives deleted and apologies to anyone I have offended.

Oh love, Kirstie's shows though. Missed the first one, I was going down with whatever bug I've still got and fell asleep.

Will have to look out for Kirstie's show, didn't know she was on again. Saw her before doing a Christmas series. I really must start buying the radio times again, I miss everything these days!

I'm a real Kirstie fan too (and somewhat envious of her being able to spend so much time with the rather lovely Phil ;) ) but what she appears to have omitted from her interview is that she was born rather well off and therefore had choices which others are not so fortunate to be able to make.

However, she is a hoot and her verve for life and joy for all things crafty are a refreshing change for most TV fare!

Hoorah indeed, ROC!! She is a lovely womanly shape, much more preferable to being a skinny mini ;)

I've just Googled the house they filmed in - Meadow Gate. It's a holiday cottage:

She is doing good things for craft and I loved the first programme too. My only worry is that she is going to get me felting before she's finished and I have enough craft stash without taking on anything else!

Missed it last night but I must say, like you GP I'm very tempted by the felting but am trying to resist. It does looks like it would be fun and very satisfying. Let us know how you get on ROC and Angela.

Julie - if you are reading this do they do needle felting as well at the Fluffatorium?
