My invertage arrived yesterday and it is lovely.:)
Am I correct in thinking you make only two card from the two sheets--one pyramage and one invertage?
If I use the one whole picture to start the pyramage what do I start the invertage with?
Thanks in advance
Judith

Hi Judith
Here is what I do
Top left picture is left whole for pyramage
Bottom left picture is left whole for invertage
Then the pictures on the right are both snipped out to do the layers with.

Thanks Jeanette
That makes sense.I expected there to be two whole pictures.
Off to have a play.

Has anyone found anywhere that sells these other than Ideal world?

I'm afraid not Angie. There aren't any clues as to the maker on any of the components but it is a good quality cardstock. It wouldn't surprise me if this was a Kanban kit

Just noticed this ebay item in the ads at the top of the page. It says pyramage from QVC but its definitely the invertage from IW. You'll have to be quick though

Not convinced it is Kanban, as I haven't seen it in any of the Kanban promo material - and Kanban stuff normally (although not always) has a black header strip with the product details & barcode.
I am keeping an eye out for it though ;)

How did you get on Judith? I hope you had more success than me. I decided to get my kit out and put together some more images. Well it wasn't till I went to use the aperture card that I realised that it wasn't as simple as I thought it was going to be because of the size of the aperture itself. So I think I have finally sussed what I am doing
I now have 2 invertage toppers and 1 pyramage topper from the 2 sheets.
To use the aperture card for an invertage design, my bottom layer was top left of the unfoiled sheet plus the next 2 larger frames from the foiled sheet
To make my 2nd invertage topper I used bottom left of the unfoiled sheet as my base and then the next 3 frame sizes
To make the pyramage card, I use bottom left of the foiled sheet for my base and then all the remaining pop out bits that I had left.
Phew thank goodness thats sorted:D

I'm afraid I didn't get very far,Jeanette.I was just about to start when I had a visitor.
I did find a few minutes of the programme I had taped where Jo (I think) took the aperture out of a card, put the whole picture inside the card covering the rectangle and then put the frames on the outside of the card.
I'm away tomorrow for a week so will have to try when I get back.

I was at a workshop this morning run by Nancy Watt (it was very good). She mentioned that she was doing another couple of invertage kits on Ideal World at the end of October so will be worth watching. She demoed the Christmas kit first and did a great job, was sold out in half an hour. She emailed out lots of hints and tips about the kit and I have a copy if anyone wants it.

Hello Jeanette and Judith,
I'm sorry but I can't get my email working at the moment. I am with AOL and sometimes it does this to me, it keeps coming up as an error. I had to ring my freind to ask Nancy's permission to put this up I hope it is within the rules.
Hi Anne,
No problem at all. I only managed to get one demo in because the kit sold out in less than half an hour so just hope that all this makes sense. When I was first given the kit I must admit I was a bit puzzled, so hopefully you won't be.
Invertage is the opposite of pyramage so instead of stepping up with every reduced layer you will be stepping down. The end result looks like you are walking down steps to the base image.
1. You will need to nick out the "pips" either with a craft knife or scissors as it is very well pipped indeed. I think it is because it would be very easy to lose pieces and it would ruin the effect.
2. You will have 8 layers of invertage and 8 layers of pyramage. Take no notice of the fact that 4 layers are foiled. Only 2 needed to be foiled the bottom and the top layers, the other two are done because of the print run. To do just 2 cards from the kit, use the bottom layer of invertage as your bottom layer of pyramage, ie the whole image that hasn't been die cut. You can then use a smaller die cut pyramage image for the bottom layer of invertage. I hope this is making sense.
3. I found that invertage looked great if you put the smallest layer on the inside back of the aperture card. I actually layered this onto some silver foil as well and it finished if off nicely. The best way to do this is to have it matted up already put adhesive on the back of the mat, and holding the card up to the light (so you can see the shadow of the image through), place it centrally behind the aperture and then close the card over it. You can then build up the invertage on the front of the card around the aperture. Of course you can put as many layers inside the card as will fit. It gives a really clever 3d effect.
4. You can also do this with the pyramage, put the whole base layer on the inside of the card and start to build it up through the aperture.
5. If you want to make more than 2 cards, then just make 2 x 4 layers of invertage to make it go further. Use another smaller piece of the pyramage layers for your base image. Lay all the layers out, it is quite easy to piece it together.
6. I find that 1mm large pads are best for this type of kit.
Hope that helps.
Nancy x

Thanks for posting the details Anne. Like Nancy, I have been doing some cards with the bottom layer stuck inside the card but I have been using the largest pop out bit as the picture is most complete. Then I layer the 3 largest frames around the aperture. It really does look great.

For those of you who may be interested, I received an email from Nancy Watts today, she has confirmed that she is doing two more invertage kits on Ideal World at 9am on Monday morning. They are a floral kit and an everyday kit that have been glittered and foiled. Hope that helps.

Oo ta for info anne - I've never seen it demo'd so I want to see what the fuss is about with this kit. From the pics on the site I don't think I like the images, but I want to see - just to make sure :D

What pictures on what site Welly? Am I missing something?
The Christmas kit is even better in the flesh. It must be difficult for the camera to catch the beautifully glittered images. I don't think there was 1 image that I didn't like.
The info for the 2 new items hasn't been on the website long. I check for invertage everyday and it wasn't there yesterday:rolleyes:

Didnt see any of the new ones on the C&C web site ,well I dont think so, but they had most of the christmas ones at 40p each ,also the black and white large christmas decoupage from ages ago.in the fill a box section there were loads of the bonnie beauties and those strange christmas babies they had as a POTW. Must admit I'm surprised at how much C&C there was. I thought that red hot bed did a lot of there kits but it must be Kanban

Sorry Jeanette, I meant when the Christmas one first aired & I didn't see it so could only look at the product pic online...Going off that alone I wouldn't have wanted it, but it didn't show much so I would have liked to have seen the proper demo...

LOL m*d :) If my own dad's reaction to becoming a grandad is anything to go by, I expect your DH will adore it! According to my mum he didn't really handle me when I was a baby - too scared of dropping me etc. He couldn't keep his hands off DS or DD :)
