Help!!! Printing troubles

Hope someone can help me. My printer doesn't seem to print well on certain paper/card.

MCS meltdust papers, silk card/paper and CCs centura pearl. The ink goes bobbly and bleeds. I did have an HP printer and thought I would switch to a Canon. Solved the problem of printing on heavy weight card and whilst the print quality on these papers improved slightly it didn't solve it. Has anyone else had this problem. Tried many settings on the printer with no success, just wasted a mass of ink and paper.

Don't know if anybody had a solution, settings wise but Centura Pearl card & printing problems were mentioned on another thread, here:

Thanks for that. Having read through the other thread now feel slightly less frustrated knowing its not just me and my printer having trouble.
