Well, I watched, rewound, watched again, then deleted todays shows, making sure to make a note that I need Stick & Spray for embossing large areas.

Then I went to order it - but there are loads of them!!! Which one did you use Sheena?

Sorry to be so dim! I blame it on the overload of information that 'I must not forget' when I watch your shows(though I obviously did!)!!
(and I don't usually delete straight away but have very little recording storage left. Will soon put that right!!!!)

Wondering the same myself. I saw the can was purple but the purple one I have got is for use on the back of stamps to plonk onto rockablocks so repositionable. Help!!

I have it on tape, if I get chance in a bit I'll have a look, I didn't know there were different stick and sprays either apart from permanent and removable

Sheena used the stick and spray which you would use for unmounted stamps on the rock a blocks. IE the purple one.

The others are stick and stay and stick away.

It is the one I have got then. Will play with the technique tomorrow if I have time. Everything a bit on hold at the moment as I am waiting to arrange delivery of a new dining suite, arrival of plasterers to skim artex and a whole lot of other stuff.

Craftycat Towers looks like a bomb has struck at the moment. LOL don't know what that has got to do with Sheena's demonstrations!

You don't need Stick and Spray for emossing large area - if you already have a Versamark pen that will do the job nicely - umm I'm sorry to say this but I was thinking "bullsh*t" when Sheena said on air that the embossing pens are no good for large areas - errrrr I have done it quite a few times very successfully......and if you want to see one of the most talented crafters from the USA do it ALL the time.....then go look at Michelle Zindorf's blog (http://zindorf.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/) - she uses clear embossing over her artwork to protect coloured areas she has stamped an coloured prior to brayering in a background and she she does this by "colouring" over the image with a versmark pen to make the clear EP stick.

Morning Ladies,

The spray I used was the stick n spray not the stick n stay! Just thought it would be worth trying to see if you could use it to cover a large area to emboss with as a lot of us already have it in out stash if you use rock a blocks and I'm all for saving a bit of money!
Phree - Oh no! I'm sure I do speak "bullsh*t", but I also hope by now that you know that I speak as I find, and my experience of embossing pens haven't been good! i'm sure it was Steph who mentioned the large area thing, although I did agree from my experience. I have two in my craft bag right now - one which has a blue tint which never changes to clear (as it's supposed to), and one which was dry from day one! Until recently I always embossed a large area using the direct to paper technique with a versamark/perfect medium - I played around with the glue options to try and save us a bit of dosh! If you want to stamp a line, you have no option but to use your ink pads, likewise, if you want to draw a fine line as in writing, the pens I find are the best option, but if you want to play around and place embossing powder in specific areas, why not use a cheap and readily available option?
I hope it didn't come across as this is the only way to go?
The embossing powders I used with the whites and clear sparkle were from the every day set.
Cheers for the link Phree - I'll have a shufty now:-)
p.s. Thanks for watching the shows and the feedback on the new stamps:-)

Sheena I'm the same as you with the pens. Find the blue tint one (never dries clear as it is supposed to ) is fine for small bits. Did the spray and emboss last night and it really worked well.

Love that site Phree gave a link to though.

I've just bought the church, pub, stream and pine leaf from CC web site (won't buy from C+C) some neenah and stick and spray...
I have some people who do not like christmas cards but I feel should have a card of some sorts, the pub will be ideal for them both. As I already have some of the WOW powders, I can play...
Thanks Sheena for a great two hours, I tape them and always keep them for future reference.

Haven't actual seen any Sheena Youtubes. Won't start searching tonight but will have some fun over the next couple of days. Sheena, there is a lovely mica mist you use that is lightish peacock's tail colour. Which one might it be? Think it was you that got her fingers covered in it a couple of C&C demos ago!

I'm not a big fan of aerosol, are these stick & spray toxic ? What I mean is, does it say on the can to use in a ventilated area ? That would give me the clue that it's not really good for my old lungs of mine ! :)

VERY Fabs. I don't have breathing problems and it makes me struggle for air. I think it advises on the can to use in a well ventilated room.

Thanks Pamela ! Since I've yet to see crafters creating 'al fresco' and we keep our windows well shut during winter time, I think it's pretty bad to use these aerosol.....mind you there are people who force smoke into their lungs, the lunatics ! ;)

Sheena, I got "suckered" by the goes on blue, dries clear type of embossing pen you are talking about when I first started crafting and just like you I found it does not dry clear but remains pale blue. That one lies in my craft kit unused - even with supposedly opaque powders I just don't trust it not to leave little glimpses of blue at the edge of the embossing. However I find the Versamark clear pen (the one with the black pen case) to be excellent - but for some reason it seems to work better when stored vertically - not sure why as by rights that should leave the upwards pointing end kinda dry - but mine seems to work best when stored upright rather than flat as so many people recommend for other double ended pens such as the Copic and Promarker pens. I bought it initially to use to touch up any flawed embossed outlines but once I discovered the way Michelle Zindorf uses it - to apply clear embossing over an image I want to protect from ink I am brayering on or blending with cut n dry - I started to use it for that too. Gotta stay just on the inside edge of the stamped outline for that tho so you don't get a "nice" white halo around the image when you are done with the background

Can't say I have ever had any problems with using my embossing pad to ink up large areas where no precision is needed, just coverage and in the nearly 4 years I have owned a clear Versamark embossing pad I have yet to dry one out so IMO that is far more cost effective than spray adhesives. I did buy a second Versamark pad as the SECC last month, but only cuz I have managed to get my orignial one soiled over the years and it was starting to look a little gray for stamping clear on clear techniques. The master plan is to try to keep the new one pristine and only use it for clear on clear etc, keeping the old grotty one for the dirty jobs!

Btw I loved the new stamps - that mountain and stream scene is gorgous and has been added to my wish list - well they are all kinda on the wish list, but at the moment I have 2 wish lists - the stuff I can realistically hope to buy and the stuff I would love to buy but know it's unlikey I will have enough money for in the near future.

Thanks Phree, explains a lot. I've actually got a Versamark pen in a black case but not got round to experimenting properly. Think I got it for resist on glossy card but can't remember.

Any hints about even coverage using a Versamark pad. I always end up with blocks of pad sized shapes even if I work over the page a couple of times and make sure everything is covered. Don't like using aerosols of any description and my windows are definitely open when the things are being used.

Phree I have the inkssentials black and clear embossing pens and a collection of Tsukineko coloured duel emboss pens, they are great for cross hatch and spotting areas creating surfaces when embossing! Had them years I keep my pens and inks in airtight containers. Some of my ink pads are about14 years old and still going strong!

Hardly used my versamark pad Phree any particular techniques that can be used with that? I use a Top Boss pad a lot...and use the reinker for that for painting and creating surfaces to emboss!

I agree with Phree on the versamark pen but I almost always use my Judikins embossing bottle with a felt pad in the end (a bit like adirondack dabbers) for large areas (not good if you need fine details).

It's called embossing ink, you'll have to do a google for it because I'm not comfortable posting a link to it in Sheena's section. :)

I use a clear re-inker and paintbrush and simply paint the area large or small.
