Hello, i'm new to this forum, I was just wondering if any of you could answer a question. I am interested in the jolly nation tsv, i think my kids will love the shrink plastic, but i have never heard of it before. Do i need to buy one of those heat gun things or can i use a hairdryer ?? something along those lines to make it work. ? Is there a special techique to it or can even a novice be ok with it ?

I am a scrapbooker really but really like the look of this kit. Think it will be a nice family kit to do with my children,:):)

Hi littleprincess and welcome.

You can shrink shrink plastic in an oven on a non stick teflon sheet, you don't need a heat gun. :) When you first use shrink plastic with a heat gun, it can be a bit scary but it's great fun watching it "go"!

As crafty one has said you can use the oven if you don't have a heat gun A hairdryer will not do the trick; too much blow, not enough heat. I think you're right that kids will enjoy the kit and as it is die cut it is quick and easy for them. opps nearly forgot welcome to the forum

We used to have something similar to this when I was younger (going back about 25 years here :o)

We used to bring loads home from America and it was called shrinky dinks - you could draw anything, colour it in, cut it out and put it in the oven to shrink - you even got some with pre-printed designs with fluffy bits on them too :D

When we ran out of sheets, we used to shrink crisp packets to make badges for our school blazers - although it was best to shrink them by holding them over a coal fire using coal tongs - Mum went nuts when we melted these in the oven :D
