For some strange reason I am having a fetish for hearts, especially the shabby chic, vintagy ones, I've just ordered a string of 4 with noel written on them, I've decopatched 2 in gingham/spots and I'm now on the look out for a cheap willow heart, also when I eventually get to town I'm going to get some red and white gigham fabric and stuffing and make some padded hearts, barmy or what!

It's funny you should say that angela - but I seem to be seeing a lot of hearts recently - and have been mulling over a few designs in my head!
Do you think there are more about because of Valentines being around the corner after Christmas - or have we spotted a trend before everyone else has angela?!!!

maybe we can see into the future juliet lol, I just think the shabby chic ones are quite homely I would love some plain wood ones to decorate too with those folksy transfers, I'll not sleep tonight for thinking about it.

I've made some little padded hearts, in Christmassy fabric (holly leaves etc) to hang on my Christmas tree. The other ornaments are salt dough stars and spice bunches made with whole cloves, whole nutmeg and cinnamon sticks.

EDIT: have you seen these:

Think they've got wooden hearts, and other shapes, somewhere on the site

You should have a look on Rachel Greenfield's site, actually I might need to check the name, but she had some folksy sewing kits in QVC clearance and her site might be right up your street.

If you are so inclined, salt dough hearts (and other shapes) make easy tree decorations.

well I managed to make it to town today, I bought a metre of red gingham some gingham ribbon, and some heart shaped red buttons and some stuffing, I think I should have bought some interface but it doesn't matter, guess what I feel too tired now to make them! I have one of those cheap £15 sewing machines, never used it, so I'll dig it out, if not I'll sew them by hand. Yes Kirsty is doing a hearts swap I think, but only for 5 people, I was going to join but can't be bothered to post one lol
